Usually instead of weapon types people go with attributes...for pve anyways
pure str [glaive, blade, bow]= garment (don't need def, need mp bonus)
pure int [spear, sword, bow]= armor (don't need mp bonus, need def)
hybrid [all of the weapons]= depends on ratio or protector

I still think any build (pure str/int, Hybrid) can benifit using protectors, cause its balanced

I agree I recently made the switch and I'm quite happy now.

actually yeah, garments are becoming very popular, due to the agility and mp bonuses. With agility and less mp use you get to level much faster and i think garments are nice for pvp since a lot of pvp attacks are either nuke or some other sort of magic.

Theoretically, you would use just as many pots. With the lower physical defence bonus, and higher ratio of monsters using physical attacks to magical attacks, you'll just be spending more HP pots.
Although I have heard from various people that the difference is barely even noticeable and I even heard once that the person was getting hit less with garment on a physical damage dealing monster than with armor!

Thats because of Parry Ratio. I think.

well it also depends on the character. take me for example, a cold archer with garments. i train with monsters that i can kill before taking a hit (if i time my imbue perfectly

). Now that means i rarely take hits and that means rarely hp pots. and with garments i also use less in mp pots. But still even if this was false, garment WITH grasswalk is fun

nooo think about it............
pur str wants to deal str damage so he gets.....galvie+fire+armour
he would be the ultimate tank!

there is no one 'asnwer' for this, it's all up to your playing style. there's no best gear for any certain build, it's all just opinions.

That's true. There is no "perfect" way to play, its all personal preference and those were just some of my opinions. No one is forced to listen to them or follow them.

pure str + armor = automatic lose to pure int nuker
pure str must wear garment in pvp just like pure int must wear armor
imo pures should never use protectors cause pure ints need all the def that they can get and pure str survive nukes better with all the mdef they can find[/quote]
