Question regarding INT and magic damage

This may be a real noob question, but I want to be sure that I understand how magic damage works. I know that a sword (for example) does more magic damage than a blade, but let's say that a character is 50 INT and 50 STR...Is he better off with a blade or sword?

Further, Let's say that this player executes a bicheon attack, if he does not imbue it, is there any magical damage taking place, or does magic damage only come when you imbue or use a fire/lightning/ice attack?

I appreciate your help.

@2nd question

No magical damage is taking place when u use a physical attack. Imbues are magical damage. When u use both a physical attack + imbue, the damage displayed is the total from both.

5:5 is really a bad idea...so dont think about it ;)

it also has to do with which mastery is higher. if your force is higher then use sword if your weap higher i would use blade.
