Bow and Lightning Archer - Advice?

I have been very carefull building my character. But now its time to make some decisions. I have not put points into many different skills.

-Bow basic move
-Bow multiple shot
-Lightning Damage
-Lightning run speed
-DEAD EQUAL INT/STR

I have not put points into lightnings magic damage increase %, because that skill only increases about 3%. Thats almost....nothing?

I am content with these. But here is the problem.

The game will not let me move on to the next skill (after level 9) until I am much higher level. So I have nothing to do with my points. Also, I find myself guzzling mana potions like they are going out of style. One creep uses up 2 medium MP's.

I need to choose if I want to go intel, or strength.

And I need to choose between Bow, and Magic.

If I go INT, I assume I go more lightning.
If I go STR, I assume I go more bow.

If anyone is experienced with Bow / Lightning combo, or has some good advice for me, I would love to hear it. Please step forward.

hey sd....im a pure int lightening archer rite now. because of the lack of hp im using armor but the down side is like u said u end up using alot of mana pots. i personally think u should upgrade ur lightening skills instead of farming sp. even thought 3% is not alot it all adds up and u need to max that skill inorder to get the next skill in the tree. even if my advice is wrong u can always use the skill reset. i already committed all of my stat points into int so i might as well go all out.

Right now, without lightning I do very pathetic damage.

Almost double once I charge up.

I am NOT sure what thats telling me, except go with more lightning.

HEY

What other skills for bow / lightning do you reccomend? As I said, I only have two bow skills, and two lightning skills.

Unless of course, dats all ya need :D

// I stay with protector. But if an armor peice has higher stats overall, I wear it. May as well. So I have a blend right now.

HERE is my biggest question no one answers.

WHAT skill is the giant, yellow cone of light, that takes 5 long seconds to use? It does INSANE damage.

Nuke? People nuke me with that, and I see a number over my head, equal to something along the lines of

50 to the 50th power.

Heh

someone told me the name of that gold cone but i cant remember. i think its about the 6th or so skill down.

anyway about maxing that lightning buff. It only upgrades 3 lvls before its maxxed. Not too much of a sp waste.

If the golden cone is an arrow skill, its probably the level 31 or 54 archer skill (strong bow or something) it might be the wolf lightning bolt if it was a lightning skill (level 30 AOE nuke for lightning)
As you know, im playing archer too, but i would suggest you go full int with lightning for max damage but you will die to one shot of golden arrow (strong bow, not your mysterious one which would kill anything :P) what level are you? i think there is a level 20 quest that lets you redistribute SP? but i think you lose some though... I'v been reaing up on sooo many archer guides, but none of them have anything thing to do with what im trying (full str ice/lightning, maybe because it sucks ^^)

Okay, I have to decide now. I have 1066 sp's.

Heres what I * THINK * I want to do.

Spirit bow is a phsyical attack (30+ skill) under bow skills.

I didn't want to make a 'mage with a bow'.

So I think lightning will be a 'secondary' skill tree.

Imma pump STR from now on, and pump the bow skills.

My physical attack sucks. Without magic, I do like 50 damage to monsters, instead of 150 or so.

But maybe its too late, and I shouldn't do this.

If this is all a bad idea, post. I dont want to mess up my char; she has much potential.

What kind of build is your archer? Int or str?

Nuetral really, at level 27

STR / INT pretty much equal. 2-3 basic, well leveled skills for Bow and light. 1066 sp's at the moment.

Need to make a choice and start pumping one

Unless I just go well balanced, but that doesn't seem practical.

Well I havent made that kind of build, but I would say to put the SP you gathered to your bow skills and some lightning maybe?

Im in similar situation. Right now I have a pure INT// Cold archer. So essentially a mage w/ a bow.

It works well most of the time but as soon as you run out of sp or get mobbed your in trouble. With a combo of bow and cold skills and a critical i can do anywhere from 400+ dmg and I almost always critcal. Im at lvl 15 right now.

The problem is if I run out of SP I do like a patetic amount of dmg because I have nothing in STR. Also my HP is only around 400 so I can't take lots of DMG.

But when I do have the SP I can do a very good amount of DMG. So I just pot a ton and wear armor for some added D.

So if you go lightning//INT you can expect something similar. Never tried pumping STR yet but you will ahve good HP and physical atks and won't ahve to rely on SP.

If you are going to go mage, get a sword+shield :P

My experience tells me right now to "make up for my deficiencies".

I've done almost the same thing as you have. I started with bow but later moved to spear/glavie. When I was still in bow phase, I concentrated my efforts on cold masteries (Which I now understand was kind of a mistake).

What I mean by make up for my deficiencies is, I'm a garment user, and my deficiencies are physical attacks and defense, but my strengths are magical attack and defense.

Even though I'm dead in the middle between INT and STR, I think it's better to make myself less vulnerable through filling my deficiencies with strengths.

I don't know the deficiencies of protector/armor or bow, but I'm sure there are some and you can make a good decision off of that.

True :D
INT build dont use bow. They use sword(because of m.atk witch is higher on swords).
Useing a bow is kind of forcing you to build on STR.
INT+bow > low dmg,low HP
STR+bow> big dmg,big HP

Bow users should go with main tree skill for bow and second skill tree on cold(maybe lightning).

When I start I choose bow+fire, but lucky me I pump up few SP on fire and choose cold insted.

The skill is called Strong bow-Spirit. I think it is a lvl 32 skill...can't remember.

I've used INT/bow before and did very well with a critical 10 bow and ice, I was only level 11 and I was killing 2 of those tree things before my ice ran out, 3 arrows in each one :D

as Moogie discovered earlier today while toying with my build, the Lightning magic attack % buff actually makes a lot of difference.

we're both killing things around ureuchi's den, getting expensive jewels. Moogie noticed that it takes me only two hits to kil a black robber, and that it takes her own build 3 hits minimum. if your a magic user, that buff is a very good asset to have, eve3n if you only raise lightning mastery purely for the one skill (or two considering grass walk flow)

I am so confused. Here is two stories.

One high player is pure STR on xian, and shes an archer with spirit bow - which really, really owned. I was told, spirit bow and all bow skills are STR and physical based.

Another character, pure int. Says the rest are complete nubs. All archers should be INT, because they are distance, and BOW is the only real way an INT should get damage - from a distance. However in duels, he did have about 50 different spells to throw at you. like 3 nukes AND spirit bow.

Sigh

I switch my STR / INT point so damn much, I'm going to come out a mess in the long run. I just dont get it.

Ryoko:

Decide right now, this is what they look like:

Str Bow--
A hell of HP, can tank better than Int Bow
Does high normal damage, very high damage with Bow skills (anti devil etc.)
Bow skills depend on str
Will be harder to level
Doesnt have to spend as much SP

Int Bow--
Very low life, i have heard str bow can OHKO them at level 31 with strong bow spirit
Low physical damage without imbue (you will see them do like 10 and then like 200 with imbue on)
Very high mana pool, therefore great for leveling
Can benefit from many skills of each force (unlike str bow in which you level one mastery just for 1 skill)
Can kill people/monsters without taking any damage

Just a note, Strong Bow spirit isnt so good for PvP later, i have heard that Anti Devil Steel is waayy more favored because high crit chance and faster cast time
