Farming At Higher Levels

I don't feel like farming at all. Silkroad Online is a nice game but the thought of spending countless hours gaining SP scares me. I'm a world of warcraft player and I'm used to grinding but I if I wanted to do that I could go and play it.
What will happen with my character if I don't farm at lower levels? Will I be weaker than everyone else? Can I farm at higher levels?

You will suck. If u dont farm u will only have sp to level one mastery (maybe even that).
Im farming at lvl 65 with 7 gap, and i plan to have 85k sp at lvl 67.7

At least and the very least you farm for 10k, else just don't play SRO because you will quit.

I started farming at 64 with a 9 gap. I, like you, didnt farm at all in the lower levels. I was more concerned with the level of my char. After i hit 64 and noticed that all my skills were hovering around 45-50, i saw that i NEEDED to farm (taking 4 trees dosnt help either). I have gotten 2 x 4 week tickets in a row with 13 days left on my 2nd one, and i brought everything from 45-50 to 56 fully farmed, and i have 37k sp banked now. By the time im done in 13 days i will be looking at about 60k.
So from all that, i think farming at the higher levels is definetly not a bad idea. The money you get from mobs is better, the drops (when and IF you get them, lol) are worth more, and the SP, though a bit less than at 16, is still good. Farm early or late? It all depends on what you want to do but i dont regret farming when i am.

No, no, no, no, no.
You don't have to farm. For most builds you can keep a 3-4 lvl gap and do just fine. Even for my VERY SP hungry build, I choose not to level up the force tree that much; I'll farm at lvl 42, when I will have enough money to get a SoS or +4, +5 high crit blade.
Farming at a high level means that:
1) Your drops are worth a lot. Farm at lvl 16 and you get crap. You don't even get a lot of gold. At lvl 42 you get lots of gold and all the tablets and elements and items gives you a very nice income.
2) You can break up the monotony of farming by doing some trading, hunting or thieving. By lvl 40+ you'll most likely be part of guild too, which is THE best thing to make farming more fun. Sure, it might take a little longer to farm your SP, but I'd rather farm for three weeks while having fun and chatting, than for two weeks while I'm bored and miserable.
3) You will have made enough money to either buy a really good weapon or buy a rather good one and pimp it yourself.
I plan on farming three times: lvl 42, then again in the late 50's or early 60's and then again when I get to the late 70's.

I will finish my build at level 72 with the nachals. Remember that most important thing is kill a lot of mobs on less time and at 72 you will have your last weapon and a fast spawning monster that its just 2-3 levels under you.

That sounds really interesting. Right now I'm a level 18 full str/fire/lightening with a 9+ level gap and I was thinking about deleveling back to 16 but I find it really annoying having to delevel back down because you only lose 2% everytime you die lol. I was thinking about just leveling all the way and farming later on like maybe when i hit the mid 20s or something. Also so many people say that if you want to gain alot of SP exp, you have to delevel and such things like that, but what you said is definately interesting and seems more of a better choice to me than deleveling back down to 16 lol.

But is it possible to farm over 150k worth of SP exp farming at such a later level? I wouldn't want to spent weeks-months in the stronghold trying to gain that much, that really takes the fun out of the game and I'll probably quit before I even reach half lol. But I'm wondering if its possible to gain that much SP exp later on?

yes it possible, you will just spend a bit more time. i farmed for 1 month at lvl 16 and got around 67k sp. this will be enough for my next farming lvl at around lvl 60. i will farm another 70k at that lvl and by lvl 80 my char will have max skills.
also for new players, beginners it is recommended they dont farm at low lvl , it gets very boring and your at the point where you are ready to quit and never play again. so just lvl up and get your sp at higher lvl.

I hope I speak for others when I say that Silkroad has a pretty harsh SP requirement. It's very discouraging to new players; about 4 out of 5 people that I introduced to Silkroad quit when they learned that SP farming was necessary. The ones that are happiest are the ones that didn't try to farm at 16. So, learn from them and don't farm unless you are hardcore and dedicated to MMOs. An alternative I suggested to my friends was leveling with a 3 - 5 gap, which lets you progress while gaining some SP. Hopefully, my friends will see how much SP they really need later on and make the decision to farm by themselves.
As for me, I am currently farming exactly 36,488 SP points. That will last me to level 53, when I will probably delevel and begin farming again

I started playin Silkroad before the cap was raised and I found out about farming and decided to quit. I recently picked it up again and created a new character (pure str glaive). I got to lvl 16 and decided to start farming. I used the calculator to figure out how much I would need. I had my 9 level gap and gained about 7k SP pretty quickly. I got a couple of decent drops (thanks to my squirrel). I did the calculator again and found out that I have enough SP to get my masteries up to level 23. I figured I'd quit farming at 16 with 7k SP, level up to level 23 with a 0 gap, grind until I reached lvl 32 and farm until I can make it to level 40. Then do the same thing. Basically I'll farm based on the weapon set. I got a pretty nice glaive right now that helps with farming, but I get sick of farming pretty quickly. So I'll do enough to get to the next weapon. It's a little confusing, but it really allows you to spread out the farming. It's kinda like a circle, you farm, then you level up, then you prepare to farm again, then you farm, then you level up, etc. The levels between leveling up and farming will suck but that's ok with me. I've got an awesome guild that does it with me.

You're lucky you have guild members who'll farm with you lol. All my friends quit this game and most of my guild members who do play are like levels 40+ and I'm only level 19...so yeah lol. But I like the way you're going to farm, I'm somewhat doing the same but I'm keeping a level gap, not sure how much just yet (It's set at level 7 right now).

farming isnt necessary at low lvl....
Just keep 2 mastery trees an only upgrade one or 2 weapon skills+ imbue+ passive+ mastery itself. This way u can pretty much gap 0.
Low lv farming sux ass.... monsters do give lowersp, and sicne u dont have skill at all ull kill slow( example lv 32 is nuke=fast farm) I DIS RECOMMENDED farming at bandit camp, it sux. Farm at lv 52 ishades. or preferably lv 64.

Also keep in mind that if you lvl up at 40+ you would already have gained some SP from quests and grinding, so your total SP needed will be less. While at 16 for example you might need to farm 100k, at lvl 40 you might need to farm only 50k or whatever the number.

For nukers, they can farm almost everywhere when they get their nuke, they need 2 thing, good spawn rate + good weapon and you can start farming. (caves/shades/penons/bunwangs/red eyes for instance)
For Str. players it will be a little harder but worth the effort when you get higher lvls, because you need to do a few combo's which work slower. But I also agree that farming at higher lvls is much better then at the lower lvls, because of the drops.

I agree completely. I never sp farmed, Im level 39 now, and I can kill a black robber in 3 hits, which gives me about 500 sp (including a ticket, mind you) which isnt far off from what youll get at 16. But bandits may be faster sure. But heres a little truth ive learned through much experience with MMORPGs.
Time is not your enemy, BOREDOM is. If you have fun leveling, then itll go alot quicker. I used to travel as I leveled, Walking from red scorpions throguh yeowas and robbers to ongs, and then scorps, killing everything i saw along the way. Sure, it probably took alot longer, but all i know is i had 10 percent exp increase that wouldve felt like ages if i just stood in one place.
So just remember, ITS A GAME. have some fun, take some risks, enjoy the game, dont make it like a job.

My advice, do not sp farm until you want to. Keep a 3-4 lvl gap, and just lvl. There are no skill masteries after lvl 69, and and you sp farm to your heart's content then. At a zero lvl gap, you are getting 5000 sp per lvl. 10 lvls at that rate will give you 50,000 sp. Best time I ever had farming was at lvl 70 (when the server cap was 70), I could stop anytime and go jobbing, help others out in the union, and well, you know, just play the game.
People who say to sp farm early are human machines that treat games like a job
If I had to sp farm even as much as 30 k at lvl 16, I would have quit this game a year ago. Simple as that.
And oh btw, its not about the sp per xp ratio, its about the time you have to put into it to get the returns (in this case sp). Looking at it from this vantage point, sp farming early on is slow, way slow in comparison to farming in the Donwhang caves. Just not worth the effort, especially for nukers who kill much faster at lvl 30+.
Don't waiste your time, enjoy the game.

IMO farming at 16 is only wise if you have an old character that can provide you with a shitload of moneyz for nice gear + weapon. Otherwise you will have a hardtime not to be ksed in the overcrowded den.
I just lvl up with a 4 gap usually and when I see I need sp I let the gap slowly open up to 7-8 and do that for 2 lvls or so. Might not be as *good* as other farm methods. But this way I have the most fun, I dont really care about being the strongest..
But blaaaah I am gonna farm at 52 though

I think I will last 2 weeks farming. I dont have that much patience

I never spent my time farming skill points out the wazoo... no fun.
Instead I keep a 5 level gap while I grind. Or if I go any less than that, I keep the Skill XP I gain per kill at 400+ (400 = 1 SP) so I get 1 SP per mob killed.
Im at level 44 now and each level I gain, I have enough SP to max out all the skills I use in all my trees (fire lightning sword and spear (mastery and passive only for spear)) and still have about 2-3k SP left over to look pretty.
I do plan on getting a 9 level gap for level 52 though... just for a little extra farming at penons.
