OK, I full well how that fire is the preferred skill for bladers, especially for pvp. However, I was wondering if there are ANY ice bladers at all who might take the other side. What about is a character is going to be pve only? Does the frostbite cause a very signigicant slow-down, or is it just minor? Are there any out there that would argue the benefits of the ice buffs over the fire buffs for pve? Just curious.

Mainly, people choose fire for blades, because fire has very useful buffs for bladers (fire shield, flame body, passice and fire protection; all complementing each other - pure Str has low mag. def. so they need fire protection, pure str does physical damage, so they need flame body and passive etc.) Ice only has ONE buff, which provides physical defence (and the passive of course). The buff is useful to all builds. Ice Blades have a very big disadvantage: very slow grinding speed...=> very slow leveling. Frostbite effect is pretty cool in PvE but that's all there is to it. The slowing is pretty good and freezing mobs can also be fun. However, blades do small damage, ice also has small damage.... The result??? VERY small damage . There is only one possible advantage to ice blades (in lower levels): The high frequency of hits delivered by a blade results in an almost certain freeze/frostbite. e.g. With a blood chain+billow chain it's practically certain that you frostbite the opponent, if not even freeze him. At later levels people become ice immune, so ice blades turn in to the shittiest thing possible. Hope this helps

im atm lv62 PURE STR blader, with fire
I fought a lv64 pure str ice blader, and i beat him, he was full farmed, and 1 dont..

Cold = deffensive
Fire = Aggresive

Cold is a deffensive imbue, because you dont make enough damage to kill somebody. If you are fighting glavier/blader at the same lv of you, you wont win

You won't be able to kill anyone as an ice blader.

Ice = weakest imbue.
Blade = weakest weapon.

but with force and pots you can become invinsible almost.

Don't forget ice doesn't mesh well with KD, the most useful move in pvp.

Definately. Ive stopped using frost nova on things because of that a while ago because if u KD a frozen/frostbit foe theyll just get straight up so you wont be able to do any stabs.

after that, it's almost extinct

Me ice blader . But im not pure , i can tank 5 devil yetis using nova with only 4500 HP, while int fire cant.

Blade is not the weakest weapon, but Bicheon is the weakest skill tree. Blade has higher phy power & reinforce than sword so u cant say it's weak generally.

Well, I think we have established that fire is the definite way to go for a pure str blader...BUT...what if the character is going to be PvE only??? Is ice still a definite NO??? or are there some who would argue in favor of it for a PvE-only character?

very good point, when you kd/freeze the oponent at the same time they don't actually go down.

I'm using both ice and fire buffs just for the fun. ( you can ALLWAYS reduce ur mastery, so u cant be wrong and be sorry for it ).
ice is very cool at fighting monsters, but only when you fight them 1 on 1.
when you wanna make sure some1 won't KS you, go for the fire.
ice buffs are effective only around the lvl of 20~.
fire keeps your damage high forever
i think u should try and see what works for you

sword is used by nukers and they use mag dmg only. Which is higher then the blades phys dmg So they do way more dmg than a pure str blader
so blade is the weakest weapon in the game.

....bladers are the weakest type, since they are usually pure str or str-based and they use the weapon that allows them to use a shield, therefore the weapon has less atk than its glaive or bow counterparts. With double stab the bicheon skill tree is not weak at all....

ice blader levels extremely slow...and the buffs are meant for nukers
fire blader levels a little faster...and the buffs helps against magic and ice immunity
