some ppl say they can get over 1k sp in 1 hour and i cant even get half of that in 3 hours!?!?
it takes 2 shots to kill bandit archers or 1 with critical and i pick up the loot,
after an hour i die cause im out of pots and my bow is damaged alot also it would save me the trouble of travling back to town and delvl after lvl16
overall i only get 300sp everytime i do that cycle
any advice?

The reason most can get such a great amount of SP is because of 2, maybe 3 things.
1. They are using a GT (Gold Ticket) which gives you 100% boost in exp and SP gained from a mob. So basically doubling the production.
2. They have a collecting pet (monkey/squirrel/bunny) to pick up their loot so they dont have to walk over and pick it up themselves. This also saves a TON of time.
3. They have gear that is superior to what your using at the moment.
What gear do you have? STR or INT bonuses? Are you using a bow? What kind?

EllisD took all my answers ... cept one!
Dont forget about your LEVEL GAP. Have a lvl 9 gap for max SP.

Doh, i knew i missed something, LOL
Yes, you must have a 9 level gap to gain the most SP per kill.
If you dont know what a gap is, it is the difference between your HIGHEST mastery level, and your characters level.
Example: You have lightning at lvl 10, fire at lvl 13, and your character is level 16.
Fire is your HIGHEST mastery at lvl 13, so the difference between your highest mastery and your character level is 3. Therefore, this is a 3 gap.

i got a 9 lvl gap like alot of guides said i need
i can see that it saves time to collect all the loot but even if i got a SOX bow, i still gotta w8 till my fire imbue is ready to use again
currently using a non-SOX bow with 7 crit
got 2 or 3 str boost and 2 int boost

I think it's just because you got ksed very much, and have nothing left to kill in the bandit stronghold. When my char was about lv16, I farmed at Tiger and she got about 200-220 sp per hour and still pick up loot by hand, so 3 hours means at least 600 sp. Why not try the tiger ?
Cuz bandit tent is a place for SOX-farmers. You don't have SOX, you have little sp (or don't have anything).
You said currently you have no SOX, so maybe I'm right. And your crit 7 bow , does it have some plus (at least +3) ? Farm with a white naked bow is too bad.

wat kind of tiger? the normal tigers takes more than 2 anti devil+imbue shots to kill and they drain my hp pots like mad

What ? Did you say that you're lv16 ? Those tigers are just lv14 man, maybe they're aggressive but their hits won't hurt that bad, my pure int lv16 char can tank 4 of them, and she's pure int man.
Use Imbue + Antidevil + Combo 2shots. For example you can kill a tiger (the normal-yellow tigers not the black or white ones) with just Imbue + Anti + Combo 2shots + a normal shot. And don't fight Giants cuz they have tons of HP and the Exp/SP they give you not worth the time spent on them. Just let ppl handle the Giants and go find normal one. IMO if you are farming then only fight Giants when you have to (when they block your road or appear in the spawn spot).
And one last thing, if you're using a white naked bow plz find a better one.
P/S : If you think it's so difficult for you to fight tigers then simply switch to the Young Tigers or delvling to 14 and do with Yeoha.

True Tigers are a good alternative as I am doing that farming at Lvl 15. I use a bow with blues and almost all my garments save some blue. STR, INT, Lucky, etc. What I usually do since I am a pure str glav is bow/anti-dev my first shot, usually get a second shot off before switching to my glav as the tiger gets within swinging range. I may imbue fire depending on how much health I see left in the mob bar.
Believe the avoidance advice above, I was completing the operation scroll quest and got a little to close to the stronghold and didn't notice the Bandit behind me (not archer or sub but real deal). I get popped for 56hp twice before I figure out he is behind me. I turn and start glav/fire on him which is slowly bringing him down and what appears off to my right but one of them giant archers, I turn (Bandit still poppin my arse) and run potting the whole time until I can turn and finish off the bandit. The giant was lucky for me distracted by 3 other peeps fighting nearby. I thought to myself ....back to the tigers until I at least move to level 17 where I can use some SP to move up my dmg.....good luck and if you are on troy I will be happy go farm with you some and watch your back......

Sounds good phaZex1....I usuallly get on around 9p - 1a EST (some time during those hours) I need to go finish the tiger competition but didn't really want to take on champions by myself. I could use some help and don't mind sharing the xp to complete the quest because in the long run it will even out and I like to know there is a peep watching out for me and vice versa. I play as ZoJyong and I will give you a pm when I get on.

I'd stay at the stronghold killing bandit archers if I were you... especially if you don't pick up your loot or get a monkey.

I have a question..if you have a 9 gap at lvl 16 and u leveled to lvl 17 but u dont lvl the skill does the amount of sp experience u received decrease?
Posted: Fri Feb 09, 2007 3:56 pm
by Charlotte
Yes it will be decreased no matter you lvl the skill or not. That's why farming ppl keep delvling.

I ran into same prob...here's nice alternative for staying in stronghold... I call it the power hour.
I can't find a nice sos bow either, but you can get sos sword for 1.5-3 million depending on your server...I have a normal +6 sharp sword, crit 7 w/ 20ish% magic and magic reinforce & I grind on the bandits at the eastern corners of the stronghold with s/s. I have a L10 shield but has br of 17...can tank 4 normal bandits with no problem. Most folks are working on the archers, so there's plenty of bandits to go around. They spawn fast enough so that you always have at least two or three of them mobbing you, so you'll always have a close target. I'm full int, lvl 7 masteries and and kill them with imbue +2 normal strikes & either sword move 1 (strike & smash lvl2)or 2 (illusion chain lvl1) to finish him off. It takes about 4 secs to kill a bandit, 1 or 2 seconds to retarget next one. Your imbue wears off just after you land the last hit to kill one.
Math: At L16 (9 gap on masteries) in 4 person xp distrib party you get 225 sxp per bandit kill...takes average of 9 secs total to kill 2 of em, 10 at most if miss an imbue or something...in 1 min you can kill 10-12 bandits.
Giants/champs (factor in zerk you build every 4-5 mins you're grinding...if you get zerk, use it right away, giant or not) - you can lure them over to the middle to let the sos bows help you take them if no zerk.
So 60 mins = 600-720 bandits.
sxp (assuming 4 person xp distrib party so each bandit = 225sxp)
in one hr... 135k - 162k sxp gained =
338 to 405 sp/hr. That's without gt, 1 hr hardcore grind.. x3 will get you 1k-1.2k sp.
Have a squirrel if want gold/itempickup...Don't pick up anything but sos if no squirrel or
unless it's blue and something you're looking for...after I get done with the grind session i will stop and pick up equips to fill inventory before heading back to jangan.
You get less sp once you lvl...if you stay out for a 2nd hr you'll be pretty close to 17 (assuming you got to the stronghold w/ < 3% into L16), which will decrease your sxp for the 2nd hr; it's still pretty decent amount but i can't remember the exact sxp the bandits give you at 17...will check it this evening.
EDIT *** in 4 person party you still get 206 sxp from bandit @ L17.
so 123600-148320 sxp/hr = 309- 370 SP for 2nd hr.
So in 2 hrs you could get 645- 775 sp.
That 3rd hr is for finishing the grind to L18, then delvling.
Ack, hate that part, especially if you have no one to help you.
***
Happy grinding!

You can't unless you do it the illegal way (botting) which i don't recommend, that I do not.

im actually farming tigers and soon moving on to white/black tigers. I make a killing out of tiger drops selling wind/fire 2s and i barely run out of arrows and pots. I hate bandits too annoying to farm @ stronghold when theres too many higher lvls ksn u for berserk and the need to get a sox bow kills me since i only have 7 mil (made from tiger farming

Still new so let me see if I understand the whole concept here. SP farming means leveling up slower to get more SP to spend on skills correct? If I am currently at XP level 14 and highest mastery level 7 then I have a 7 level gap. If I am farming Yeoha for example and (not actual numbers but just using this as an example) I am getting say 160XP and 140SP per kill, both are adding to the totals needed to reach the next level or point. Now let's say that gap was 2 (XP 14 and highest mastery 12) and each Yeoha now gives me 230XP and only 70SP. I will level quicker but have less SP once I get there and then at my new level 15 the Yeoha are going to give me less of both XP and SP. Hince the idea of dlvling to get back to 14 where I get more of both XP and SP for the same MOB.
So if I want to level quicker but in the end have a lot less SP to pay for skillz = smaller gap (and be hurting at the higher levels) or farm and level slower and have a ton of SP to get all the skillz you want when you are ready to up your masteries? (plus as mentioned before tons of mob drops to alch and use for stones or stalling)
Is that about it in a nutshell or am I missing something?
P.S.: what about completing NPC quests which some give you large amounts of XP and gold and inventory but no SP or should you focus on the ones that list as giving you good XP and SP? Initial lower levels I think should go ahead and quest because it will level you up so you can at least kill the mobs just around Jangan.

IMO, if you want SP so badly then DO NOT do any quest. Quest is only for ppl that are lvling, not farming. To day some guy tell me that he will keep a 9 gap, then lvling with quests all the way to lv52 to farm there (!!?!?!?!), and he's only lv2x. And I'm like wtf ??!
My style is to spend all the time farming at a level that fit me the most (in this case lv66-68 cuz I have a 64+7 spear), then lvling fast up all the way. No point gaining SP slowly and slowly by keeping 9gap and lvling.
I'm sure that guy will quit, or just breaking gap to lvling up.
I'm pretty sure.

I can get about 500 an hour with a GT..thats with a 4 level gap
so when i have my
9 level gap
I'll be on about 1 k an hour yeah

I moved my gap back to 5 (I am still level 1x) simply because even though at a 9 gap I was getting more SP, I couldn't kill mobs fast because i had no skillz. I chose to up mastery in heuk and fire so that I have soul spear and a decent fire (plus now grasswalk in lightning) and things seem to have evened back out if not had me gaining SP faster.
An example (not true numbers but similar): I can stand in a group of 5 tigers and with a 5 level gap and kill all within 30 seconds. Now say I get 108 SP per tiger (108 x 5 = 540 in 30 seconds or 1080/minute). Now, at a 9 level gap say it takes me a full minute to kill all five and I have used some pots since they are hitting me twice as much but I am getting 178 of SP per tiger with my 9 gap so in 1 minute (178 x 5 = 890). These figures may be off a bit but you get the point. And it is much cooler to soul spear a tiger with the glav and one hit kill or stun than it is to sit and hit him 6-7 times watching his health finally go down. Just some thoughts from a low level guy out there grinding.....

When I farmed I went to west gate hotan and let the flowers kill me. They stay in the same spot. Would be good to have a resser to help you delvl though.
