I just made a new character named Mangel in Xian. I am planning to go Strenth and Glaive for now is that a good start?

I have been reading through the forums for advise and am still a little confused about some things. I am trying to determine if I should spend points on the first fire ability or if I should save the points to put them into the higher level fire abilities. Or do I need to get the low level abilities to be able to get the high level ones?

The only skill requirements you'll encounter are going from 'Book1' of a skill to 'Book2' and etc. You'll never need to know a certain skill in order to level a completely different one.

My personal advice would be to invest at least a couple of levels into some newbie skills. Use them to help you level or SP farm or whatever you plan on doing. Later on you can aquire the 'Curst Hearts' quest to de-level those skills and regain 80% of the SP to invest in better ones.

Thanks Moogie! What are these books? Does that mean that I can go straight to poison fire force? or do I have to get river fire force and extreme fire force first? I am guessing that you mean I do need to get those other 2 first.

yor first fire skill is your imbue. it's the central skill to the game; you should DEFINITELY get it, if not max it. the higher it is, the more dmg you'll do with every slice.

Hey I am on NOW, and will be on for a long time over the next 2 days if anyone would like to help a noob out. Mangel was last seen north out the eastgate of Jangan fighting Water Ghosts. I finally got level 1 fire imbue, but I am all str, and am level 9 now.

Ok so I am getting the impression that having a 9 level gap between my mastery and my experience level isn't for the best. Is that true?

Get the fire imbue and keep the mastery about 5 levels below your current level. Don't bother for the first skill for glavie, waste of little sp :p. When your level 16, you can get soul spear, which works nicely with fire imbue. When you start killing mobs, then you can get the 3rd glavie skill.

Ok level 9 finally spent some points. I got river fire force level 1 and nothing else, 250 sp remaining. So I should save them till like level 16 ?

Is there somewhere that lists the different item enhancements, and what they mean. I tried searching the forums but I am probably looking in the wrong place or something.
