[GUIDE]: Building a Hybrid Int/Spear

Post by [SD]Master_Wong »

To Build an effcient 2:1 hybrid spear you wil need to start a level 0 but you can make one starting later on SuicideGrl started at level 30

Stat allocation

1-Str
2-Int
every level

First of all your skills you wil need

Ice:

Frost Guard Series
people are very critical of this saying it does'nt make much difference but i belive it helps a lot more then they make out and is one of my core bufs

Snow Storm Series
the first book of this skills imo is useless but the second i use a lot bcause i am hybrid i have a lot more hp and i use this to gather large groups of mobs and also deals a fair amount of damage

Cold Armor Series
This also helps it tends to reduce damage at my level by about 50 i think so definatly helps

Tip:Due to update ice tree will have to suffer you will still need it but you will need other trees more

Light:

Pierce Force Series
This skills is probelly one of the most important as it increases your magic attack power meaning you deal more damage (can make the difference between 2 hit and 3 hit)

Wind Walk Series
This is just something you almost always need especially Ghost Phantom Walk

Thunder Bolt Force Series

this is the strongest nuke set until fire book 3 so you will 100% need

Fire:

Fire Force Series
use as your main imbue but to be fair you could also use lightening if you prefer

Fire Shield Series
yes i know you are spear and dont use shield but come later levels in pvp the status reduce on this skills is possible the final decider who wil win

Flame Body Series
been hybrid you wil use a lot of weapon skills this skill series add just a little more power to your attacks which with imbue are already stronger then a pure str but sadly your crits wil be considerably less but stil dangerous

Fire Protection Series
big help when fighting magical monsters and pure int players

Flame Wave Series
imo a must

Heuksal

Soul Depart Spear Series
in pvp and even pve one of your most deadly skills, if you stun first in pvp you most likely have now already won

Ghost Spear Attack Series
second book on it knocks the players or mobs back canciling which ever attack they were in the process of using

Flying Dragon Spear Series
not particularly powerful but helps gather mobs for you to tank

Cheolsam Force Series
this passive is the most important make sure you DO NOT FORGET to keep upgrading this as this give your extra hp

Now they are the core skills i would recomend but you can get more but also be warned lion shout is very weak in the hands of a players like us

Tips:

  • PvE power sadly you wil seem weak until i noticed level 42 but keep faith in your 2:1 int build its strong
  • Pvp you wont shine until about level 50 i dont usderstand why so late but i guess you need to gather hp point first
  • Tanking you can do but in proportion come level 59 you should be able to tank yetis in double digits aka 10+
  • Farming to keep 4 masterys going is a must do this either 16 or 40 20K+ sp maybe
  • I recomend using protector but garment also fairs well
  • look below for my attck bar set up at level 62

Image

finally Wolf's try get one asap they help a lot

i hope this has helped have any further questions please ask

Note:Due to update this guide is now a bit dated and without actuall gameplay know how i cant update it so if you are unsure about your own mixxes il try help from what i know of the old skills but over all you should try use this as a basis and mix up your own trees maybe dual weild a wep

One question:

You said you farmed at level 40 in pms, how did you go about levelling before that? eg: from level 1-39 constant level gap? or some farming?

thanks

Seems aight but why dont skill in the light passive and the parry buff?
Id rather get those than farm for the ice skills.

Book 2 lightning nuke>Book 3 fire for single targets.

Fire has edge for 3+ targets

While book 2 ice is AOE, it's not really necessary imo. Once you get to 5x, you have plenty of books between lightning and fire (5 at level 56) so not much need for ice nukes.

Other than that, good guide. Though, I suggest planning your build in advance and going pure int until a certain point for leveling speed (aka max nuke damage) and pure str from that point on.

i went 0 gap

and _Medea_ it is possible for a good 2:1 to lvel faster then a pure int as we can tank and do great damage on aoe etc

as i said them skill sare only what i would recomend as core i use parry buff on lightening so you know also a few others i didnt list

I'm interested in a build similiar to this but I don't want to go over 3 masteries.

Is Ice essential for an int heavy hybrid?

Imo, ice is not essential for any build.

ice is most essential for spear nukers in garments who wanna tank physical dmg based red mobs, or more importantly, if they have want to survive and kill glaivers or bladers. unless u can switch to sword and shield or much easier wear good armor/protector set u wont need ice.

people under estimate it but it is essential im building the imbue for it aswell as it does the same damage as the fire if you exclude status damage

Obviously with the 80 cap it isn't possible to have 4 maxed masteries, so would 80 fire, 80 weapon skill, 70 ice and 70 lightning be effective?

nice guide. imo (int hybrid but a bit different) ice is very important the buffs at high levels help alot more then people think, If your that bothered about teh damage your nukes will do go 2:1 Int:str to 60 then full Int to 80, Less Health but you end updoing about as much damage as a pure int, and as for getting killed by galviers it depends on how farmed they are. on a semi hybrid at 70, unfarmed glaivers lvl 70 die very easily where as farmed lvl 69 are rock cos they hit so high.

come level 80 cap when im fully farmed it wil be without doubt the strongest build on the server

level 60 cap it was fairly weak and this is what put a lot of the veteran players of making a hybrid but after 60 if its fully farmed you have soo much power with nice hard hitting crids and good nuke damage what more do you need?

Just to bump it up this thread (otherwise I would edit it =)

I dont see the lion shout and concentration series @ the lightning tree.

No need for those as a hybrid int?

and although u might say otherwise, MasterWong said book 2 light is best nuke til u get 3rd book fire, but I personally am insane about book 2 fire :D :D .
Master I'll find out the total sp required for your skeleton and a little more 8)
