Im 90% certian im starting from fresh once the game is running again.

The hardest part of this however is picking a name for your character and matching it with a face/body.

Any idea on if there is a difference between the 2 genders or the character you pick?

basically i want someone to do the hard work for me and pick my character . If nobody makes a good enough reason ill probably pick the prostitute again.

it's not what your character is when you pick them, its what you make them

as noble as that sounds, it does mean alot to me

the only way to find out would be to play the game with each character in excatly the same way at least 10 times each (for instance going from level 1 to 30) taking note of drop occurances move speed, everything that isn't editible as you progress etc. then compare them all.

the way i choose my character, i read up the jobs and classes you can be (warrior rogue cleric etc) and pick what i want to be, usually a rogue or assassin type, then i put in my rp persona where necessary, if not, like in sro, i just use my real personality, hence i tell people to f-off so often, after that, i judge the available looks, what would my character want to look like, what would he/she wear, what would i want to look like or wear, and finally what would i wear if i was doing that job.

in silkroad, i use the young monk, who is blindfolded, the way i see it is, he's an agile warrior, and though he is blind, his other senses are keen enough for him to fight well, as these senses benefit him in combat, he is fast and strong, and like most monks, and taking in reality too, would use a polearm if an option of quarterstaff, kama's and the lieks are not available.

with the availability in silkroad, that puts me as a young monk, lightning kii, force kii, as all monks are nice, and spear.

We have noticed odd trends between mine and Demarthl's characters to suspect there may be some subtle differences depending on who you choose. For some reason, my character -always- receives lots of loot wherever she goes and whatever she kills. Most of it is lame. Dem, on the other hand, picks up loot suprisingly rarely in comparison. But when he does, his loot is generally powerful.

I'm not ruling out a set of strange astronomical coincidences that would need to have happened hundreds of times now. But on the other hand, it seems too consistent to be our imagination. Whether it's down to our chosen character types? No idea. But we can't think of anything else.

like it would have nothing to dowith your characters attributes like other games in which you can set points to charm/charisma to gain more valued drops.

Maybe if what you say is true in comparrison to cartian characters getting stronger drops, it would explain why some people get sos eq more often...

Does the game itself still drop SOS type items?

I wonder how valuable santa sets will be as time goes on, I bought one yesterday for 200,000 which was really cheap I thought.

I hate not having a hat, hats can be so hard to find sometimes so with a santa suit your head stays warm all the time

i got a SOS lvl 1 tailsman... hardly worth the time programing that one isnt it? By the time you collect it youre already lvl 8

Yeah, sounds like a waste. Though it's highly probable that all plusses, SOS and blue stats are added randomly to item drops, rather than specifically-coded items with specific special values. Does that make sense..?

Rather than one of the developers having sat down and coded a "SoS lv1 Talisman", instead the Talisman drop had the SoS randomly added to it with the same % chance as it would have been added to any other item.

I dunno, maybe not. But it makes more sense... and it would be much less coding work, I think. I do ramble sometimes... *wanders off*

Sure it makes sence and in a perfect world id be lucky

but theres more than a few of the exact same sos item dropping.

Its not the first tailsman i got and ive seen a few lvl 8 glavie sos aswel
all same stats but not duped...

Umm, my char 's name is from nowhere...
I made it up myself, based on the fiction I have been writing.....The name is in English, of course.

These two are my favourite names, depending on the gender of my char.
Lady_Areya (Female name)
Lord_Zelthan (Male name)
