My char is a sword int, haven't decided if I'm gonna put any str in...maybe a little at some point. My question is do I really need the bacheon tree for the knockdowns and the block increase? Would it be better to go Spear and cold for the hp and buffs instead? I am basically picking 2 of the above 3, and can't decide which. Usually the debate seems to be between spear and cold, but what if i went with both spear and cold and skipped the sword skills?

If i were you i would just forget the sword tree and stick with spear and cold

get cold buffs but not cold imbue....cold imbue is weaker than fire/light and freeez is useless due to aclehmy where ppl become immue to it.

what are buffs? and also what are the buffs if any in cold, fire, lightning and force? thanks alot

Buffs are anything you cast on your character to raise stats...ie

-Guard of ice
-Piercing force
-Fire protection
There is more,I just dont feel like naming them all.All masterys have a buff of their own,cold buff raises defense,fire buff raises magic defense,lightning buff raises parry and magic damage,and don't even bother getting force.

I would go sword, but thats me. If you go pure and with spear, its pretty much kill them in the 1st few strikes or get owned. I would go with sword because of block which is a life saver and KD+Stab which gives you time to use some hp pots and dmg your opp. while he/she can't do anything.
