Noob question, What does MAX ing a skill mean?

When people say MAX flame body or wind walk for example, do they mean max that individual skill or the whole chain of skills. I'm a bit confuzzled please help

Max everything except for castle shield. That thing really dosn't work so well because you can't move while using it and it doesn't even absorb all the dmg. Actaully SCRATCH THAT i don't think you can move with mountain shield either... no more late night debating about SRO with myself again.

Fire Skill Tree...........
Max Imbue.
Phoenix is optional
Max Flame body series
Max Basic Fire Protection
you don't really need the nuke cuz it won't do much dmg

Thats the xerox fire blade build.

You could though, all buffs in light (running speed), or cold (more defense), even force would work (heal yourself while somehting smacks you.. that would be a nice taunt haha)

i meant max the entire series

or at least for the illusion pick one of the branches and put it all in there

a STR character's attacks are physical, so the more adept you are in your weapon tree, the more damage you will do.

Hate to keep asking questions >.> but which skill in the chain attack series should i max? I'm new to the game and i'm not sure whats good, but the last move in the series "heaven chain" seems to do the most dmg. And for the fire skills i max every series listed right? =D thanks so much for the help

If your farming, the whole chain is good. Do the 5 hit combo, then the 4 hit one while the 5 is recharging.
