Armor And Garment Analasys.

Im planning a nuker character for the near future, i have most of the build down... so far i think im going to use a spear, fire imbue. fire&lightning nukes. i HATE sp farming, so getting both sword and spear skills isnt for me. i think ill pvp just fine with spear as long as i can stay back when im fightning ints and hit em when they dont expect it 8)

ok, to the point. i cant decide which equip to wear. i know it would be logical to wear armor since pure int's have very low physican defense, but some say garment becuase its faster, helps with training, helps when ur fighting nukers, gettin the spear passive and ice buff wil bump up your phys defense anyway, and so on. i also heard somone say that the differences of the defenses between armor and garm arent much differnt physical wise, but alot magical wise. so i did a little investigating and calculating on that. all i did was add all of the peices of the lvl 5x garms and armor's phys and mag defenses. heres what i cam up with:

Armor:
Physical Defense - 268.31
Magical Defense - 350.60

Garment:
Physical Defense - 219.20
Magical Defense - 467.60

Difference between physical defenses - 49.11
Difference Between magical defenses: 117.00

What are your opinions on this? Which one do you think is best for a tanker? (obviouse lol) Which do you think is best for a nuker? Does it depend on the weapon you use? Share with us!

if u are using spear, go protector or armor, thats what i think it sbetter, if ur using sword, go protector or garment, thats what i would do but still dont listen to me, choose whatever you want =)

thx for positive reply :) my plan is to use spear so im going to use armor until about lvl 42ish and then mabey go garment. i dunno why i just really like garment.

if youre using spear definitely go armor. Especially if you plan to go pure int and not hybridize. Though you have an extra 1k over the average sword nuker, you still only have 8k hp at most and you dont have the defence or block of the shield, so a good crit from a glavier when u wear garments would kill you, not to mention the knockdown which can help you recover hp. I think you should use garms for early levels maybe then switch to armor. Though i didnt get past this newbie lvl, I've beaten a lot of pure strs my lvl and the reason was good armor. Also my friend, lvl 7x spear hybrid, wouldnt do as well in pvp without armor. :D Garms are good when you fight another nuker, but I think that if you wore garments as a pure int spear yacha giants would kill u a lot, and you have more magic defence being a pure int anyway. :)

im pure int nuke and i use garment....just buff ur gear up and u can tank like alot of nukes and a few str attacks.

go germant untill u reach hotan ...

means when u wear 5th degree go for armor ...

then stay armor till u reach lvl 68

cuz then u will face nachals ...

so u will have to be germant or protector :roll:

thx hit man, i was planning something like that, exept i think im gonna use armor until i reach nachals, then sell armor and buy some +4 or higher garments, which is like NPC armor with higher mag defense and faster, or if i cant find any, just keep NPC armor and garment with me. shouldnt be too hard to find +4 garments tho 8)

ive seen people who do garms, some who do armor, most people end up getting both.

I take garment all the way (ok lvl 60-68 in caves armor ^^) because:

The main goal of my char is to be succesfull in groupfights, where the extra movement speed is very handy. Armor will kinda make you an easy target since you have low hp. The bit physical defense that armor gives is to low for me compared to the magic defence from garments. If you wear garments you increase the chance not to be 1shotted by other ints, or killed very fast by int-heavy hybrids.
Also the mp consumption saves alot of cash, and if you're really worried about those vew extra hp pots you can always grind on magic-based mobs.

As soon as I have a nice set of garments I might take armor when I 1v1 versus str-based chars. The movement speed doesn't really matter then, so..

48 phy def is ALOT

fighting bunwangs... i was getting hit for 280 on average (their single
attack) then i went up 20 phy def and now im getting hit for 160...

but alas...

fighting spiders... i was getting hit for 800... i went up 80 mag def now im
getting hit for 350~550...


IMO phy def is worth more than mag def

its all up to you.. test both out and see which one you like more...

i will never take the slow run speed of prot or armor EVER again lol..

but im pure str with a hot ass shield... so its up to you what you choose.

either way your getting one hitted by some class...

(if wearing armor.. ints one hit you, if wearing garm strs one hit you)
