Just discovered SP Farming and wondering what to do

Post by GrosBedo »

Hi all =) As you can see I'm new to this forum so please don't be too rough with me if I don't say the right terms =)

So like I said in the subject I just discovered how to SP farm but I already have a character level 19 with bow, full int and cold/healing skills, but I don't want to recreate one so my first question is: can I still SP farming from now, even if it is hard, to have in the final enough points to have 3 skills categories at max ?

Second, I saw the "Cold Pure Heart" build and that's almost what Im doing right now, except that I don't have any weapon skill, only cold skills at max and little healing skills. That's because I wanted to do a pure ice magician, because I saw that the last spell (Ice Shot ?) seems to not need weapon at all, but I'm new so I don't know if it is really that. So can someone tell me if this skill doesn't need a weapon to function nor it uses the weapon magical damage ? If it's the case, does this skill more or at least same damage at higher levels that the first one when we imbue weapon with ice ?

Thank's for any answer in advance :D

yea, you can start now, just don't level your masteries for a few levels. from what i can tell, 4 or so gap should be good, especially if you only planning on getting 3 mastery trees. you might even be able to slide with 3 or 2 for a while.

Okay thank you very much for the answer, I think I will try to have the biggest possible gap I can have to be able to choose 4 skills tree ;)

But for my second question, don't anyone know how is the "Snow Storm-Ice Shot" spell ? Does it use the weapon magical dmg or is it totally independant ? And is it better than the "Ice River Force" when maxed completely ???

No need to recreate man. SP farming can take place whenever, its impossible not to have enough points because even when you're lvl 60 and not receiving EXP for kills, you still get SP.

except that I don't have any weapon skill, only cold skills at max and little healing skills. That's because I wanted to do a pure ice magician, because I saw that the last spell (Ice Shot ?) seems to not need weapon at all, but I'm new so I don't know if it is really that. This skill does not need a weapon to be used, however i will advise not to do so because having a weapon makes it a very VERY strong attack (if you look at weapons, they have a phys. attack, and a magical attack) The dmg the spell does is based on the magical attack numbers. If you don't have a weapon, it does little dmg because the magical attack.. of well your hands.. is 0 (as far as i know)

This skill does wayyy more dmg than the imbue attack, and even more dmg when you imbue before using this spell :D

But for my second question, don't anyone know how is the "Snow Storm-Ice Shot" spell ? Does it use the weapon magical dmg or is it totally independant ? And is it better than the "Ice River Force" when maxed completely ???

For a full INT character, you're going to want to max the imbue skill fully, because you attacks will be based on it. The Snow Storm-Ice shot does weap magical dmg. Sorry if i sound repetitive in this post i'm answering chunks independently as i read them.

Second, I saw the "Cold Pure Heart" build

I'm currently doing SP farming as well at level 11. How many SP should I farm? The full 30,000? What's a good number to start maxing out your skills every level?

Thank's again for all the answers and questions :D This post will be probably my last in this thread, I will open a new thread about more technical details.

Okay that's what I thought, at first I wanted to level up my char the fastest possible and at later level train only for SP, but I think it would be better to train more skills at once since now, for test purposes and easier playing ;)

Okay thank you very much for this explanation, so I can imagine that this skill (IceShot) work as an instant attack, like weapons skills, but now Im wondering so what's the best in dmg: weapons skills or magic skills ? Im speaking about instant attack, not imbue one because I know we can cumulate them and use them all at once, but that's not the case for the attacks skills.

Ex: the Autumn Wind Blood skill in the Bow tree does 204-276, but the Tiger's Thunderbolt skill in the Lightning tree does 263-489, and I took the best skills in dmg in these two trees. So what's the best in these two ? And if lightning one is better, so why should I take any weapons attack skill like I see in all the guides in this forum: I didn't see any that tell to not take any weapon skill, so why ?

Yes that's right I saw your guide and its quite interesting =) but I discovered it after reaching the level 19 with my char :p But sorry, I don't think I will follow point by point your guide nor any other one I saw on this website and on others because I think that many of these guides miss a really important point: the freedom of the skill system. And because Koreans players have reached higher levels and played much more than us doesn't mean that they know everything on this game, they know much, but can't know everything. Im not yet a big big player of this game but that can change soon ;)

So I can't tell any argument on this game, but I can tell one about another online game, a MMOFPS named Gunz - The Duel for those that know it.
At the beginning, the first players that played it was Koreans and Japanese, and long after an International version came out. At this stage there was only one popular high level playing style: the K-Style or Korean-Style. But some times after, someone discovered a new style, the E-Style or European-Style, that first seemed and was considered to be less effective than the K-Style, but this proved to be untrue.
Now this style is still considered by many as weaker than the K-Style, even when some E-Style champions beaten K-Style one. And recently, even if the game is running since a long time, another guy apparently discovered a new style: the D-Style or Dagger-Style, and even if I've seen some players say bad about this style, I'm sure soon this will be one of the most powerful, at the same title as the other two.

I can tell you too about another game when a friend of mine created a character that noone ever tested because it seemed to be so bad that noone would try it. But at the end, he was the most powerful player on the server, and many guys began to copy his character, but rare are those who were succesful.

All I want to say with these stories is that because some peoples used a system much more than you doesn't mean that you can't find new ways to use this system as effective as the one found by these peoples. And don't forget that this game is still under development, they can add new skills ;)

That's all =) Sorry if I was a little long and boring :D

Okay thank you again for your great help =) Now I have a little plan for my char, from now I must test on my own :D

@kagenutto: Yes, I already took a look at your great guide and I think that it should really be put as "Sticky", with some other nice guides I saw on this forum, this would let the new users find easier what they are looking for, and the "old" user not repeat what they already said 1000 times :p
