First I'll start off by saying I'm a pure int (currently) spear user lvl55.

Now on to my quandary and hopefully a full discussion.

Lately, I've been very tempted to slip in a str pt when I lvl. After all, since the alchemy update the lines between a pure and hybrid have been blurred. Spend a couple pts into str and all you have to do is buy or make an item with int/mp to equal it out. This way I can stay alive longer than I ever would w/out extra str pts. At 48 w/all armor sos that was well alchemized and a 48+7 spear I would almost constantly lose to both str builds.

On the opposite side, I'll never be as strong as I would if I stay pure. Let's say I max all stats of int on my items. It still wouldn't make up for those few pts I put into str.

I'm not asking everyone to tell me what to do w/my character, but to hear the options of experienced players and how it has effected their character.

I have an almost pure int sword user. I love it. This is my first char.
I did slip in a couple of str here and there, but I do love the knockdown/area attacks of it.

It pretty much guarantees that I'll be able to kill anyone my level before they can hit me.

Downside to my build is a pure str glaiver can trash me fast if I'm not looking.

Well my advice is that you try make ur self into a 2:1 at later lvls stay as int in the early stages of the game as they are the best in pvp b4 lvl 30 when they strs arent rly great tankers and int lvls fast.

and around 5X i wuld say now fix urself a certain % of mag balance as it will increase ur hp and phy def vastly in 7x if ur worried about low damage dont worry fix it with int pts on gear.
IMO after that u might wanna get the ice buffs to increase ur phy def even more. in pvp with str that ways they wont hit you too much that will cause u die of course im talking 7X onwards i've said it before dont b int of any kind unless ur willing to put lots effort in this game.

If you have alot of gold, and can get 8k hp due to your gear, then pure int is still good, sword shield is even better.
If not, go spear hybrid which is cheaper, but less dmg.

I'd have to agree, best builds would be Pure Int S/S with added HP (can kill and tank a lil, or enough to make the kill) and Pure Str B/S (can tank just about anything).

Just my PVO, change to S/S.

Well im a Hybrid/Ice/Int/Sword/Prot... I was going for hybrid STR but then i realised that Hybrid INT was a much better way to go.. Im doing well can easily beat chars a lvl or 2 above me.. N no problem with people my lvl.. Unless they have like full sos or some godly alchemy...

Ill get you more detailed info on my build when i get a chance.. Mayb even a SS of how my char is... So u get an idea

For now here is a PIx of me at LvL 33 Owning someone who is Obviously (look at the Aurmour Leg and Chest) a higher LvL than me. That was fun.. N no "Rimmer" did not help me at all.. He only took down that low lvl at times...

as an int hybrid, i beat pure ints nearly every time. i beat pure strs over 70% of the time. i fully endorse hybrids.

He didn't have pills.

He had pills.. Just in that screenshot he wasnt using them.. I think he has them set to Manual.. Not Auto

As i said i would post my build.. This is what its like when i left off. It might look wierd but it works perfectly and its a very strong build for me..

actually, i was pure until about lvl 50, and currently turning into 90% hybrid spear. Never been happier ^^

Well yah.. I dono why people keep dissing Hybrid.. I mean they are a good build.. You get the best of both worlds.. So yah.. I think its a smart idea to be a hybrid build... However i dono what will happen when Euro comes out.. How the builds will be.. It will be a whole new playing field...

Not really. I don't think that many people will actually play euro. Grinding = big pt and everyone playing at the same time. Bots that grind PTs of people up maybe lol?

Cleric with 900% nuke that takes HP will get one shot by china ints or str.

hi.. im pretty new on SRO and im new on this forum..
I wanna make a nuker, I dont know if i make it pure int or hybrid int, but if i wanna make a hybrid int spear.. how shall i use my points?
2 int and 1 str all the time or the first 10 levels str and then int? or pure int to 30 and from then on all points on str?
please help me i wanna get a really good char wich levels fast and deals nice damage on Rome xD
oh yeah, and i have the question how to level a pure/hybrid int to 30 till he has his nukes, just learn all the skills with a 9 level gap? from spear fire and lightning? or do i only have to learn the fire imbue and not the spear skills?

if you want to go int hybrid (my build, so i know about it) just try to keep your magic balance at 85-90% when you are naked. then whenever possible (probably smart to go with 6th degree and higher) alchemy your gears and add as much int and str as possible.

my char is like this...

naked: 88% mag balance

with gear on: 94% mag balance

That's what one of my int hybrid spear friends also said. So i guess you beat glaviers a lot? And do u beat bladers often?

Im a fully farmed lvl 70 hybrid spear nuker. fire light cold and spear skills. from lvl 1-25 i was 2-1 int. lvl 26-66 i was all int. 67-70 i went all str. i love my character. i have 9.6k hp. balane is 98% mag and 71% phy. while grinding i notice i still more dmg then nukers around me. many str glaviers find it very difficult to put me down and i win almost 90% of the time. ever see the reaction of a str glavier getting 2 shotted? lol " wtf?" " "wish i had a sos too" .....pure ints are easily 1 shotted lol. if they have good alchemy. nuke and mars they are dead. anyways...if u r rich and by reading ur post u r.. full sos set and +7 spear. i say go hybrid and do good alchemy. you'll own str glaviers and make them quit...u'll 1 shot pure ints and tank many of their nukes. hybrids FTW.

May i kindly ask wat is ur phy balance & mag balance when naked?n also ur hp?

don't compare characters with sos and sos spear +7, that's completely biased
