a second look at light imbue

Post by Shine »

Hey, I am a 90% mag balance, wtih light as my main force and imbue. I decided to make this topic with some of my findings(sry if old). As most of u know, light imbue is known for the splash damage and shock, but it also has other features to it. It can splash status effects! Example, 2 mobs in front of you, you use light imbue + soul spear, with the splash, you could stun the mob that you didnt target(i will get a screen shot when i decide to swing my spear again). It also works for the ice nuke, you could frost/freeze a mob from the splash. Here are some things that i would like to test it on, cold wave(will work, since it works with the ice nuke), frost nova book 1/3, fire nuke(if it can burn), ghost spear mars/prince, and the knock down attacks. Now im not saying that you should switch to the light imbue, im just saying that it has other purposes with that splash, could be helpful for spear hybrids.

Uh, its not worth the less dmg for a small chance of aoe status effect.

I don't have any fire (Okay I do, but it's at 20, and I don't have the imbue) but I seem to do more damage than fire nukers at my same level, I dunno. Maybe it's my imagination. I know what the stats say, but I don't believe them.

Its your imagination.
Test by maxing fire imbue too.

I actually do have both maximized, and with lightning imbue my average damage seems indeed higher. I attack multiple enemies with my nukes, and need more than one nuke to take them out. The reduced parry rate increases the damage more than the extra damage from the fire imbue would have done. In all honesty though: this should be tested properly with like 1000 nukes, and writing it all down. I just can't get myself to do it. :)

In my case, the fire nuke does more damage. Not even talking about book 2, which i don't use. Just book 1. Eventhough fire nuke book 2 also has a very good AOE effect.. so no use for lightning there.

Nuke dmg is hard to test cuz the dmg range of the nuke is too unstable...it differs by alot sometimes. test it why phy skill too...
but i do agree than wit lite imbue-lower parry u do mor dmg than a fire imbue.
