sword dance series

I am a lv 36 hybrid int sword light and ice going 1:2 str:int since lv 1 and i want to know if sword dance series is good for my build. people say i should get first book to lv 1 to open up book #2. is it good?

It is a decent skill to draw mobs. If you want, get only the first level of Book 1.

If you are str I think its better to lvl than if you are int, if you have the SP. Good for killing green or blue mobs when you have both books, and if the 1st book is leveled, you get more power.
Book 2 Sword Dance + Book 1 + Book 2 KD = good way to kill multiple mobs.

As a hybrid int sword sword dance imbued does MORE damage than lion shout imbued and has larger range. If not imbued lion shout does more damage. Also uses less mp than lion shout. Keeping book 1 at level 1 only then get book 2 later.

That would also depend on the level of your lion shout.

if they were both maxed, petal dance and lion shout, the petal dance vs lion shout 3rd book, which would do more?

Well as to level:
Currently 39 with 3 lvl gap hybrid Sword user with 100% magic balance. Bk 1 lvl 1 of sword dance vs maxed bk 1 of lion shout. Fire imbue at lvl 35. Sword dance does about 300 more when imbued and 300 less when naked. I use this more than lion shout to finish after a nuke. Especially after a light nuke because the AoE is much larger than lion shout.

just my opinion...
i find the recharge time for the petal too long for my liking
have only gotten both books on lvl 1 but statistically, the maxed dmg for both bks looks very gd actually
it useful, imo, for killing multiple lower lvl mobs
e.g. when you are hunter, killing much lower lvled npc thieves..
still i will leave it for later, till i have much much much more sp to spare, then i might consider lvling it >.<

Agree. Much longer to recharge than lion shout. But if I leave bk 1 at 1 and just get bk 2 its not that much SP used. Right now I am grinding robber archers for quest. Most times all I need is an imbued fire nuke. For those times I need more I use sword dance. If I get 2 or 3 close, then it is imbued light nuke, switch to one of the secondary targets (not the one targeted by the nuke) and let loose with sword dance. Usually kills all 3 in 2 skills.
