The Superbuild

Post by Megaman »

Hey everyone,

Recently these few days, and with the release of the new server, I decided to bring upon myself the task of finding 'the superbuild', a build that can excel at both PvP (Player versus Player) and PvE (Player versus Environment.)

I thought of basic stuff like masteries, weapons, defence tools, skills, SP acquisition and speed. Although I researched about the skills and bonuses, etc, I think I found a good build type.

I tried to stay with ranged attacks, nukes, and few melee (Close Combat) attacks. Although inevitably I will find myself in such situations, I included (or aimed to include) attacks that either splash, penetrate, simultaneous attack, or transfer.)

The build I have come up with is Pure-to-90% INT based.

Weapon: Sword+shield
Defence: Protector (recommended) or armour
Skills+Masteries: Below.

The skills I have chosen correspond with some or all of the points I kept in my mind while drafting this build.

Speed,Damage resistance,Damage output

Cold:

Frost armour series (max)
Frost nova wind (optional)
Snow storm series (level 1-max)
Cold armour series [passive] (max)

Lightning:

Piercing force series (max)
Wind walk series (max)
Lion shout series (max)
Concentration series (optional)
Thunderbolt series (max)
Heaven's force series [passive] (max)

Fire:

Fire force series (max)
Fire shield series (max)
Fire protection series (max)
Flame body series (Recommended, you still have some phys. attacks)
Flame wave series (L1 first book, L1 second book, max last if you want)
Flame devil force (max-a lilttle physical strength can't hurt, can it?)

Bicheon (sword):

Chain sword attack series (max)
Blade force series (max)
Hidden blade series (max-knock down, quick getaway, or stab for damage- great in PvP)
Killing heaven blade series (max, see above)
Sword dance series (max)
Shield protection series (max)

I have only thought about this guide, so please by all means correct me if i'm wrong or if you feel I have missed anything. I have by no means actually experienced being a sword/blader, but I have seen and researched on it before I wrote this. I have aimed on this build on excelling at both PvE and PvP, but if its a awesome, death-dealing build of doom, it's just a bonus  . Constructive critisism is welcomed, and so are comments. thanks.

Ok, the only bad thing about this build is it uses too much SP. Futhermore what i think this build is better for hybrid as you have added some physical attack. What i mean is...would a 90% INT sword man will use physical attack to kill most of the time?

I Knew that you wanted to have some melee attack to attack close range but...can't you just flash run and then nuke it?

Flame Body&Flame Devil are a waste of sp. It's 10% more physical atk, but your balance will be so low that you won't even notice.

Same goes for sword attacks. Only get 1 pt in the book you want. And in chain sword, only take the 5 hit attack. And ignore the sword throwing attacks. It's a longer attack for about the same dmg as kion shout. Use the saved SP to get fire wall for OHK protection.
