How effective is the Lightning Imbue with certain weapons?

I want to make a new character, pure STR with Lightning as my main, Fire as secondary and (eventually) enough Force to resurrect someone around the same level.
I'm wondering how Lightning will do with Blade, Glavie and Bow in both PvM and PvP situations. I tried searching the stickies and a few other topics, but I didn't really find any answers concerning the lightning imbue.
Note that I don't want multiple weapon masteries, I only want to use 1 kind of weapon.

Lightning in PvE or PvM situations could be a + or a -.
It depends. If you wanted to kill multiple monsters, lightning would do the job. But if you just want to kill one monster and keep away from the rest, then that's another story.
Lightning in PvP seems to be not as good as fire or ice IMO because fire could give burn and/or extra damage to an opponent. Ice could slow down or freeze other players as well. But high levels usually have immunity.
Im not sure about PvP sorry

Burn in pvp is pretty much useless. It'll be pilled away almost instantly unless the person has no pills. The main rason fire is taken is for the extra damage in imbueing, which is not all that much higher than the lightning, even at higher levels (and even less on a str char). Unlike the damage dealing potential of lightning (50% parry reduce) fires extra damage is done instantly and can't be pilled away.

But how would the weapon I pick effect it? Will Lightning as my main be better with a certain weapon, or worse?

afaik kitary is right.
if you hit the enemy and he gets shocked, that hit will be done on him with his parry reduced already. and thats -50% parry wich isnt bad
