Chasing runners in PvP: Cold Wave or Frost Nova-Wind?

It seems that the general opinion of most people is that Frost Nova-Winds renders Cold Wave obsolete, is that true?

Is the instant cast of Cold Wave useful? And is Frost Nova-Winds a guaranteed hit on the target? The description only states in the general direction. Which skill is better served for chasing runners?

I do plan to get the speed buffs and teleport and would like a comparison of these 2 ice skills if anyone has any experience with them, thanks!

nova because it also has a high chance of freeze, which is way worst then just frostbite from cold wave. Both have 100% frostbite

The high chance of freeze is a good thing in pvp

I'd stick with cold wave. Nova takes longer to cast, and even if the runner is not immune to freeze, it'll only be a second before they pill the effect away. If they can outrun you, the cast time on nova might actually put you further away than you started. Also, AFAIK the distance nova effects is less than cold wave.

nah i love frost nova wind. It enabled me to freeze quite a few 6xs and 7xs in job wars so my guildies could nuke them and be much more safe from their nukes. Even with lvl 1 of 1st book i managed to keep nukers frozen long enough for them to die to other nukers when i caught them by surprise :shock:

chasing runners in pvp? get ghost walk phantom. with fire shield and some % ice reduce items, u easily become immune against ice, also aginst frost nova thing. i mean FULLY immune.
