What subclass should i pick for warrior?

Post by holokaust »

Well guys, im gonna build a 2h warrior for my guild party. We got tons of wiz/clerics/bards and need more tanks.

My question is: what would be better for both PVE and PVP?

Warrior: 2H, 1H or Dual axe?
Subclass: Warlock, cleric or bard?

I don't like switching weapons all the way out, i want to minimize this problem.
Accepting suggestions :dope:

Cya =)

1h is best if you are partying alot.

2h is best for pvp or solo pve. The skills knock back and knock down. You'd have to be a pro at mob positioning/placement in order to use this effectively in a pt and not be pushing mobs all over the place; it's easier to just do 1h.

Axe is ok for both, but not as good as the extremes.

Cleric sub for ressing/buffing party members, holy word, bless, healing. Well rounded for both pvp and pve.

Bard sub for speed. I don't think noise is very relevant for you because you actually want monsters to attack you. Not really worth it to sub in this imo.

Warlock for debuffs, status effects. pretty useful in pvp and against party giants as long as the other person doesn't have holy word.

Offtopic : Switching weapons is almost a necessity to fully maximize your potential in pvp. Otherwise you are handicapping yourself.

There is nothing stopping you from being "unique" by getting only one weapon tree to avoid switching.
Weapon switching is not as hard as it seems. If you really play your character it will become second nature in no time.

Get all weapons if you want a "fit for most situations" type of approach to a warrior. 1h is good for tanking, KB, and dull; 2h is good for Big Dmg, Attk Increase, KD, and Phy dmg return' and DA is for quick DPS, stun and bleed. If you want to be "good" in Pvp and Pve, you'd need at minimum 1h and 2h, all 3 weaps if you want to extend your possibilities.

As for your subclass that's dependent on what's needed overall, or what you want to achieve. If you want an overall "Tank" then Cleric would be your best bet; you can even sub as a cleric if you know what you're doing (and have the gears to help with your lack of Mag balance). IMO, bard is a pretty useless subclass for a warrior (esp. if you're thinking of keeping it long-term). Warlock is a good sub if you want to extend your possibilities in Pve/Pvp even further, but you'll lose a bit of your "save the pt" possibilities.

We should stop treating people like objects, or at least treat our objects with more respect.
