Bow users advice needed...

My friend is a Pure INT bow user with lightning at the moment. Right now he wears garment, but is having trouble with killing ghost/devil bugs. He gets utterly raped if more than one of them aggro him. Any suggestions? Should he grind through a couple levels of Chakji or what? Thanks in advance.

Ghost bugs aren't aggro, so he shouldn't have any problem tackling them one at a time. There are pockets where there are no Devil Bugs spawning, find those areas. Or just keep an eye out and keep your distance from the Devil Bugs.

i do know that spear lightning attracts... maybe bow does too?

for some reason i doubt it... but if you friend isn't attacking them all... perhaps it is

all lightning attracks. it's weapon independent.

i remember being raped by devil bugs as well when i was lower. as a bow user, he shouldn't have aproblem luring them one at a time though. he needs to select his spots more carefully.

as an alternative, tell him to put some SP into force and get harmony therapy. (dunno if he's too low for that or not, i forget what lvl it is). as a bow he can stand in the center and be free from aggro while he deals w/ the one he wants.

try to attack bugs which are by themselves, not close to others, so your lighting attacks dont jump to the second and cause him to attack (my autumn wind bow skill does the same-goes through any enemys on the way to the target causing them to attack)

also keep away from devil bugs (as mentioned) ghost bugs populate the areas close to the chakji-devils come a little bit later and are mixed through the areas before the ghost homeland. you can spot the difference too without selecting them-devils are larger, yellower and meaner

you can always pop off a shot before you imbue, gives enough time for the mob to move towards you away form others

I use harmony circle to keep the argo ones off me and just pull them in one at a time by attacking from within. I got Harmony right around that level so you friend should at least be close.

Dying is something you'll have to get used to though, we bowmen do it a lot

I'm not really a pure INT lightning bow, majorly INT though. Didn't have any problems with ghost bugs cause they're not aggro. But I did get a problem when a giant devil bug appear and suddenly got mobbed by 2 devil bugs, 1 devil bug champion and 2 ghost bug.

If your friend don't want to die, then don't run into aggro mobs and stay off places that spawn a lot of mobs, and lure them away with a single shot before the imbue as Demarthl suggested. Harmony therapy works good too. Seen some peeps do that.

I'm hunting Earth Taoist and those are surrounded by Earth Ghosts and Gun Powders... I'm surviving barely :P

good luck to your friend when he reaches that :P

I'm having lot's of success with my int archer. Have garments too. I just stick to things that I can kill with ease. IE, If I can kill it and only take around 100 damage, I'll stay and hunt there till I'm bored. Like, I did the chakjis quest at lvl 21 instead of 19... stuff like that. Not having to use as many pots, and being able to kill more easily makes up for the SLIGHTY less exp.

Of course, Ice helps alot, and I do use pots like nobodies business, but I do the odd trade run when i need some cash.

if he is not high level, tell him to reroll and go pure str fire archer or pure int spear/lighitng.

int archer is useless build
