Currently my friend's playing on my account and i got really bored. I see so many threads about how resistance thing works. Sure most of you guys/gals know about it but there're too many confused people. My English is not the best but i think it's enough to tell the points.

First of all, let's make something clear. If you are sure you got %100 resistance, you wont get frozen/frostbitten/shocked/burned etc. Not even for 0.000001 second. That means you dont need to carry pills.


Another confusing thing is.. The resistance you get from jewels and fire shield arent the same. Lets give an example;

You get %80 ice resistance (which rocks:)) from jewels and -21 abnormal status effect from fire shield. That does NOT mean you wont get frozen.

As you see, when ice imbue is maxed out, it has 158 effect.



%80 resistance (which you get from jewels) will absorb 126 of 158 effect. Let's add -21 abnormal status effect from fire shield.

126 + 21 = 147
147 < 158 (you still get frozen from that person)

So you will need to get at least -32 (158 - 126) effect from fire shield not to get frostbitten.

- Why did jewels reduce 126??? shouldn't it have been just 80?
- Because %80 reduce means, %80 of anything - Abnormal status effect you get from jewels, depends on your opponents imbue effect.

if u have 80% from ur jewellery and 21% from the shield thats 101%. Which means u are completely immune from that status

Some say the fire shield is a percentage reduce while some say its a straight deduction.

Any ppl can clarify or prove?

I think its percentage.

I can't prove it because I, personally, don't have fire shield. But by reading about of threads about it, I believe its percentage.

Hwo about this: Someone with maxed fire shield and a total between FS and accessories of 100 make a video of an ice blader beating on him for a minute or so. That will shut everyone up.

Once I have full ice immunity I may do such a thing, but read this and tell me you don't think it's easy to get immunity with a maxed fire shield giving 78% reduction.

i can make a short vid with me hammering on Bake's head since hes immune to ice
or i just hammer away without recording it

Oh, I completely agree. Even if it's a direct reduction, with 78 from your fire shield, you only need like 50% reduce from equipment. Not particularly hard to get.
