Hello ppl, I'm here again with another newbie question, I was reading the forums and a doubt came up, so I'm making a post to ask about it, sorry if I bother anyone with that...

My question is, INT in a Bower Pach/Fire/Light will only increase the hits of skills like "Flame Wave", "Wolf's Thunderbolt", "Lion Shout Series"? Or the Pacheon skills get improved too by INT? like "Strong Bow", "Demon Arrow", "Anti Devil Bow", etc? And skills of support like "Flame Body", "Grass Walk", "Concentration", "White Hawk" those get improved by INT?

Please, feel free to add anything that you think I don't know either. ;D

PS.: I wanna a bower good in PVE I was starting with Full STR but now I add some INT but the hits of Flame Wave sux a lot I'm at 90% STR by now and I hunt only with Pach skills... I don't know if I farked up this build, I don't wanna restart, I bought a monkey, a begginer package and I'm @ level 48 now... I really don't wanna restart. Tell me your toughts. Thank you.

OT: The int-points raise the overall damage because your imbue is all about int.
However, it lowers your crit damage.

Some people prefer crits, other high base damage.

increases anything magical in your attack--> multiplies damage when you use an imbue
chinese damage= (mag)imbue+(phys)weapon skill
(or nuke with imbue for pure mag. or pure weap. for phys., latter isnt advisable)

do not even think of using a nuke unless your mag. balance is above 80%
beneath that, weapon skills will easily overpower them, just save your sp if you want to stay a str based build.

here goes...
the amount of damage you deal depends on the mag./phys. balance according to the skills you use (mag. balance for mag. attacks , phys balance for phys attacks)

with full str as a chinese your damage will be divided into:
phys: very high
mag.: very low
--> mag. attack wont make up alot of your overall damage

BUT
phys damage without crit is about 1/2 as strong as mag. damage of the same amount, meaning you'll need crit for both to tally.

hybridizing a full str would mean you make it less crit dependant by lowering your phys damage and increasing your mag. damage in turn..
meaning your damage will be higher than a full str bowers without critting,
only when both crit (same lvl, same weapon, same amount of stat points) will the damage be the same.

summary: str damage is crit dependant while mag. damage is consistant, since it cant crit.



chinese were meant to be hybridized due to mag. AND phys. attack combined.

str chars lack attack, int lack survivability

however, in the age of sox / +7,+8,+9,+10 weapon abundance,
the difference between str and hybrid chars isnt too recognizable and being full str gives an advantage of higher hp to survive whilst dealing shitloads of damage.



in my opinion a str hybrid bower with about 90-85% phys (5:1 -3.5:1 str. hybrid)
is the best allarounder due to relatively high hp and acceptable overall damage.

just not with nukes though lol, omitt them

Damn man, thanks a lot the guy of the post above too, help me a lot! So, in your opinion I didn't make a big mistake putting some int points right? I read a lot about PVP, I seriously don't wanna pvp, I don't like the pvp system of silkroad, cape and etc... I like random pvp like Lineage PVP, I choose bower cuz remember my old and good hawkie in l2... But I want more damage in PVE, I like PVE monsters higher level then me... So, it's a good choice if I stay with 90 or even 85% phisical right? I'm gonna have a better overall hits (not crits, but in general)? Thanks a lot for all the explanation, seriously

hm, if you arent into pvp you might as well go int hybrid bow
they are pve gods because of the high range and damage equivalent(or stronger) than nukes.

i had one capped at 100 cap and it was easily the best chinese lvler i had ever played.

pvp will be tricky though being int based :-/
with low hp and high mp you will need at least 40% snow for a 1:5 int hybrid

the reason i pointed a str hybrid out as the best overall build is because of the crit enhancing attacks that really minimize the damage difference between full str and int builds.

adding to that they have enough hp to survive hits and launch counterattacks easily.

meaning: more kills in a shorter amount of time-->faster lvling+more items+less gold used

(there was a thread about the damage difference of full str and hybrids too... i think it compared 70:70 with full str, just cant find it )

SO: if you really dont want to pvp, just go towards a 1:3-1:7 int hybrid
1:3-1:4
either
110 bow,110 fire, 110 ice (nice defence, nice attack, no speed)
110 bow,110 fire, ice/light mix (ice about 60, light 50) (good mix of attack and defence with some speed)

you will have bow attacks deal about 25% less than full int nuke damage, but still alot more than a full str bowers damage.

this is the sp eating build...
but you will lvl like hell
take some time to farm for a nuke to add to your attacks for massive burst damage
and mind bow as a mini nuke is good enough to lure monsters for AoE attacks to be most effective and take out many at once.

no real vid for that though i do have a friend playing my old bower, might get to tape the action.

Hum, look what I have now: Level 50 (Pach 49 / Fire 49 / Light 39 / Ice 20)

Stats are: 181+3 STR and 104+3 INT (the +3 is from my begginer premmy) Phy Balance: 87% and Mag Bal 46%.

It's a lot more STR now. In the last couple levels I put only INT.

So, with all this data and since you're giving me a lot of tips here, and you look a lot experiencend, I'm gonna abuse! ;D What should I do now in your opinion? You got my game profile in my last topic, witch is mostly PVE. So, I'm with a lot more STR by now I can't take them out, what should I do now?

When you said, 1:3 you're saying 1 point to STR and 3 points to INT right?

When you said, 1:3 you're saying 1 point to STR and 3 points to INT right?

so
str 1 : int 3

so balance wise, 1:3 is
phys 63% : mag. 79%
1:3 for 110 will have you putting about 81 stat points to str in total and 246 on int.




summary
so your options range between
str:int
86%:45% (32.034 hp and 18614 mp at 110)
and
67%:73% (20865 hp and 29783 mp at 110)



if you want to stick to pve only go for the full int distribution,
you'll kill monsters 3-4 lvls above yourself easily with only a +3 set

if you have doubts about wether you'll pvp one day, then stay the str hybrid you are
