light for PvE ... less time it takes to get to your mobs, the seemingly faster it'll be to level. Of course, this can be replaced w/ speed potions.
ice for PvP situations... I'd personally take the 336 phy def, and the frost wall ...would bring up frost nova / cold wave / imbue effects and holy spell's resistence ....maxed, it's 100% probability for Effects 212, lv10 ....cold's effects, maxed, are 216, 218, and 220...but, I'm not entirely sure if it'll be able to go through or not, yet.

Well basically if I used speed potions light would be pretty useless?
Also why use ice imbue? fire is better I thought.

if you fight against someone who hasnt got immunity then you should use ice imbue, definitely worth it, (stop enemy from attacking and make him angry xD)
also light got Phantom walk -> better than walking to the next mob

Ice imbue is weaker than fire but sometimes useful when you're pvping chinese who are not ice immunune. And since you are str the difference between them is very insignificant. However it does not go through holy spell. Personally I would choose light over ice for a blader, because although the extra defense from ice is nice, you already are a tanker and the speed + parry from light is more worth it, imo.

Thanks for your feed back I still haven't decided yet.
Anyways I have a question, since in ksro you can now have mastery lvl 330(well when new cap comes out), If I go 100bich/fire/80light/20cold what would I do with the 30 more mastery lvls I will have?

Eh, I really don't see that much need for lightning on str based chinese builds..
maxed concentration / light passive ...you get 72 PR
you can make up for that with adding PR blues, of course, one w/ the blues and lightning tree'll have a higher base of PR...not that much of differences
'd rather have the 336 phy def, maxed frost wall, and perhaps ice imbue (for non-immune) over 10 phy def and lv1 frost wall...'ll make pvp w/ strs that more easier...

Never played a chinese at the 70 cap? In job war you will seriously do alot better with high lv phantom, which is pretty much the main reason you would take lightning. Cold at 20 still gives you snowshield and Ice wall. Sure ice wall isnt maxed but a max ice wall is pretty much overrated, it only helps a bit vs int nukers who use weapon skills. As a pure str you dont need phy def that much. If you by any chance pvp with a cleric you can get the phy def buff which raises your phy def by a decent amount.
For 1on1, ofcourse max cold is better but for job war/fw I would take lightning.

Ok well I guess ill just take Bich/Fire/Ice level 100, less I see any more arguments stating having lightning is good to.

Even if you are pure str, a good fis def buff will be nice against other str. Bub the true is that I cant live without lightning. You can use speed potions, of course, but you need to buy a lot, speed more money and the more important, phantom, which is very important in job, war and pve. And a little help with magical damage of imbue, and parry ratio, of course

y not get light to 45 that way u got ggood speed and ice lvl 65 that u can have 3rd ice buff maxed ...... then again that just me

Yes, I've played since the 70 cap and continue to play a chinese this cap....of course, things change over the course of time....
For group pvp situations, euro shine the best (common knowledge). When you can have a cleric / bard buffing you / the pt...lightning seems good, only because of the phantom...
Though, I find the basis of raising / near-so maxing a mastery tree simply for 1 skill tree a waste of sp. CaitSidhe did just fine as a Fire / Cold blader on Venus in group pvp...heh

70 Cap doesn't matter any more; Back then the situation was a whole lot different: you could have more masteries due to lower mastery cap, and you didn't have to consider which trees to drop; skills were different (no snow shield, ironwall shield, etc. were static), the list goes on.
In this cap-- and having played from 70~100 cap--I'll take cold over lightning any day. In fort war you won't only be going against INTs or STRs one at a time, you'll be barraged several times by both, and having the maximum defense you can possibly have against either = the best. You might be able to phantom away or to opponents, or have more parry or moving speed with lightning, but speed can be made up from bards/speed pots, and parry can be made up from alchemy. JW/FW is all about teamwork; you can't go lone wolf against a team and expect to win (this is in the context that you're the same level, and are all FF); you're goal is to do your part in your team to get your "goal" done; whether that's to just have fun, or other.

We should stop treating people like objects, or at least treat our objects with more respect.

You consider being in a party with a cleric/bard, if this is the case you would also have the phy def buf which is better then the active one from cold. So the only difference in defense is the passive, in which case I would value phantom alot higher.
And yeah sure caith did fine, ofcourse she did FF blader with +5 stuff ( I think?). Even at the 80 cap I did find myself in quite some job situations were I was under such heavy fire that I had to run, in those cases that little extra phy defense most surely wouldnt have helped me. So in my view altough I didnt play a chinese anymroe when europe came out I would take lightning definitely.
Pve: the extra phy def doesnt matter, so lightning is alot cheaper and faster with phantom + grass walk ( w/e the name was).
Jobbing: As a chinese you job quite alot alone rushing in and out so again phantom is a life saver.
Fortress war: If your in a party you also can get phy def buff in which case the difference in phy def is minimal and I would take phantom over it any day.
