This thread is not to rant, but to ask people to help me understand what's wrong with my character. I have a level 43 warlock/cleric with 2 gap, 8:1 hybrid, currently 60% phy and 86% mag (I can't find anything good to wear and I don't want to do alchemy on 5d). Recently while training at black robbers and red eyed ghosts, I noticed that I hit significantly lower than the goldbots in those areas.

At black robbers (level 38), I hit 2.4-2.7k with SOM 42+3 warlock rod. Goldbots in that area hit 3.3k+ with fire nuke. Rev6 search of one goldbot shows it be about level 42, and using a 42+2 spear. How is it possible that I could hit lower with an SOM 42+3 than a goldbot with 42+2?

Even worse, today at red eye ghosts there was a goldbot with sos 32 spear. I hit 2.1-2.4k, it hit about 2.4k.

What the hell is wrong with my character?? It's driving me insane. I expect to be weaker due to being hybrid, but not to the point where I'm getting out-damaged by a goldbot using a lower degree weapon!

Probably because goldbots are in a spot for so long they he has gotten some drops that have blues on them + them being pure int im guessing so their mag balance could be up to 100%+ yours being 86% which is a BIG difference in what your going to hit with say 96%+ mag balance...I Dont wanna say you screwed up with the build ...cause I dont know how your gonna do later on down the road or in pvp or w/e but I would definitely focus on getting that mag balance atleast 90-95%+...

those gold bots could be way higher lvl than you and the owners just didn't want to pay to update their equips

Pay to update their equips? I thought it was free

Rev6 guesses a level based on the character's equipment. This means if I have, for example, a level 80 char, but I never wore anything higher than 77, rev6 would show me to be 77. Those gold bots might be much higher leveled.

Or simply that they get the magical attack buff from lightning.

Yea I figured they would be higher and have good blues due to drops. I guess I could take a look at their buffs to see what level they might be. Just pisses me off to get out-damaged by a 32 sos .

@KP: The build should be better than pure int at pvp =P I just didn't want to have to do alchemy until at least 6d + I suck at it.

This. Goldbots are generally much higher level than the mobs. rev6 is not perfect, so it could be simply outdated.

And, there's nothing wrong with your character, do not worry. I had a warlock/cleric with balances near to yours if I recall it correctly, it's just fine and yes somewhat better at pvp because of it's higher survivability when compared to a pure INT. If you still feel unsafe, would you bother posting screenshots of these goldbots dealing higher damage than you? The biggest problem I can think of right now is you are underfarmed.

From what I can see this goldbot is only 42 (has grasswalk at 50%). It hit 2.5 and 3.2k on red scorpion, I hit 2.4 and 2.5. I am FF warlock up to 41.

It could possible have a gap, i haven't played in a while so i can't remember if they do or not. But i don't think anything is wrong with ur character.

Probably a gap or something like that. Do not ever compare your char with goldbots. They are frequently with messed up skills and levels. I'd suggest you not to worry at all. Try comparing yourself with another players instead. Anyways, you being hybrid might be contributing to that, but that's nothing to worry about, warlocks are not about dealing huge damage numbers (even though they frequently do so).

remember that warlock does not deal massive dmg, thats why they have all the debuff to increase there dmg, so don't expect to deal more dmg per hit then a nuker, goldbots are aways higher lvl then the mobs.

Warlock = DPS

I know warlocks are all about debuffs and dps, but I thought having an SOM weapon would at least hit harder than reg +2. Also, the goldbots may be higher than the mobs, but so am I!

So after reading everybody's opinions, I guess the big difference is due to:

-being hybrid, thus low mag %
-having almost npc gear while GB has decent/good blues
-the fire nuke is 250% (single target nuke), while warlock nuke is 215%
-using a 1 handed weapon, while spear is 2 handed and naturally stronger
-possibly because GB is higher

Some of you have said not to worry about it, but that's kind of hard to do when you get ks'd because you can't 1 hit.

Gold bots always had gaps when I played. This was for the char to stay that lvl, so the owner didn't have to worry about moving it around.

Goldbots are always a few lvls higher then the mob so they can one hit them and the imbue doesn't matter, they only get the most needed skills
