How are 80:80 Bowers these days?

Hi,

When i'm looking for info about Bowers, i mostly see guides/discussions related to pure str bowers. I remember that 80:80 Bowers were quite strong at 70 cap, now i'm wondering how they are at current cap. I was thinking about creating a Bower but actually i don't want to make a pure str one since everyone already has that build.

Are they decent in both PVE and PVP?

:(

PVE
well: they are very fast grinders, need like 1/2 the arrows a str bow needs to kill the same amount of monsters.

prot is the way to go for both pvp and pve
but to make pve even faster, you can even go hunt with 30%-40% snow shield and garms

PVP
only 70:70 i knew, my friend could take on anything, only warriors gave him a very hard time.
was a cold/light based 70:70 at 90 cap with maxed ice and light with prot on

Thanks for your input.

I already thought they kill mobs quite fast.
Suppose that i not gonna take fire at all, the difference in damage will differ alot?
Actually i want to have low lvl fire for immunity against ice (and maybe fire wall).

What are your thoughts about these 2 build? Pacheon/Fire 100 Lightning 60 Cold 40 and Pacheon/Lightning 100 Cold 89 Fire 11?

Correct. However, 70:70 can be a intrequit build, quite vunerable.. and i would always take Pure Str over it...

Choose wisely dear one!

Yeah, from what i´ve read Pure Str build seems to be the strongest one indeed, but i would like to go for a less commom build ;) (but still quite strong)

Are there any ppl here with 80:80 build who already reached lvl100?

why would you not go for the strongest? pure str. hybrid bow is fail.

make ur 70:70 pacheon+ice+garment since garment+ice buff(and snow)>prot+fie mag.def in term of both phy and mag def. Ull need to sacrifice damage for this build but 70:70 already give u damage and enough of it :P

i have one and i can give a challenge to non cleric build XD(e.g warrior/rogue and warrior/bard)..yeah 2XKB have a lot of chance to freeze.

the only problem with ice archer is ur not immune to status especially at jangan cave that have this "zombie" states, bower have to carry arrow that use some inventory slots and now u need to carry unversal pills

I guess you only can speak of a fail if Pure Str will beat hybrid Bower on all points.

What lvl is your Bower?

I almost should say that being immune is a must, if you aren't immune for ice ppl can annoy you like hell in pvp.

Yeah..u can just simply take fire to be immune or just do this pacheon/fire/ice.
I can say that this 70:70 is quite a snow dependant build. This build weakness is from both str and int build.

Im 97 70:70 archer and had try and compare pach/fire and pach/ice with prot and garment. IMO,ice as main is better.

Actually i think that mobility is quite important for bowers, so i don't know if taking no lightning at all is a good idea (for me)

I already thought 80:80 build will be quite snow shield dependant.

What build will do most damage? Fire/Ice or Lightning/Ice? (the 18% extra mag damage seems quite useful to me for 80:80 archers)

hehe..chinese mastery limit causing a lot of problem to this build :D

currently im planning pach/ice 100,70 light and 30 fire. 30 fire for fire shield(28%immunity) but my accessories refuse to go 20% on each stats XD.

U can also try pach/light 100,ice 70 fire 30(light imbue looks cooler but i dont like luring mobs).Maybe u can give some good idea to refine this build cause im currently sticking to ice to see the effect when i reach level 100(long way to go)

Well my friend is making this build!

Best masterys shoudl be like this : 100Pacheon/100Fire/66Ice/34Light
Fire for dmg! With 34 Light you still have 10% mag dmg increase. And the max snow u can make with 70:70 is 40% anyway. With ice 100 you will have a better phy defm thats true, but i prefer the 10% mag dmg increase :). He doesn't pvp very often, but he does really nice damage. And with the snowshield of 40% + double knockback it's hard to kill him^^

Seems this can be quite a nice build, only too bad that you'll have low lvl ghostwalk phantom with it and when grinding in jangan cave it will take long before you reach the training spot in protector and low lvl grasswalk :P (Buying drugs of typhoon every time also isn't very cheap ;)

So snowshield of more than 40% will drain your mana too much?

Yes it will take more mana, if u put more % like 50 or 60, in pvp ur mana goes to 0 or very low that u even cant use a skill ,and u are dead! Well about speed, u dont need to buy 100 %, with 50 % is good enough and with ghostwalk, thats not 100 % required. ;)

Would 100 Pacheon/Lightning 76 Ice 24 Fire be a good build? This build will be very mobile and has maxed magical damage buff. You'll get 45% Snowshield and 24 Fire is enough for being immune and you will have Firewall.

About balances, what do you think about it? Just ensure that naked balance is 70:69 (phy:mag) or try to plan ahead with gear and go for fixed stats? with max blues you can archieve 83:80 or 80:85 .

Even lightening has those mag %, the fire imbue would almost the same as light with buff, besides full int (or hybrid int) is much tougher to defeat with this build, so mag def would be better! 45% or 40 % , is there a big difference ?

Yeah, i forgot about the fact that Fire gives alot extra mag def ;)
Fire also has phy dmg buff and passive which will be useful for 80:80 builds too, just like the mag dmg buff. (Although mobility is really nice for Archers as well)

What do you think about this:

Well if there even is higher phy or mag balance, mag gives more dmg to imbue and phy more to attacks + about gear, i dont realy know what to wear, full ints is harder to beat , so germant would be better, but protector would be better,i dont realy know, but i will take some info to find out wich one is better, so i will tell ya later about sets ;)!

agreed..tested once last time with same level int s/s and spear. With protector(+fire buff) int s/s can rape u with their series of kds&stabs and spear can nuke u up to 75% HP damage XD.When u change to garment, damage will greatly reduce but garment with fire give u little phy def. Hard is it?

Sometime im thinking of going 1:1 instead of 70:70 and get myself xtra HP with fire and wear garment.

70:70 may be effective in other aspects of SRO.. but stick identical gear/weapons on a FULL STR and 70:70.. and let them have it.. my money is on the FULL STR..

Wheres yours?

yeah..agreed,upper hand is still and always pure STR but will loose to pure str bow only due to critical. Other than that their damage is quite low. And sorry i dont fear any glaive(too bad glaive always be the test for any build :P dont know why) unless som/sun XD and for sure i cannot beat blader, tried a lot of times already.

You only need 11 fire to get immunity. You could go 100 Pacheon, 99 Light, 90 Cold, 11 Fire. That is what many nukers are doing at 100 cap.

You would be losing a lot of physical damage if you don't max fire :/

Fire Wall can be a great help to protect you a bit more against nukers, isn't it?
The arrow combo's can be a lifesaver as well since they have a good chance of cancelling opponent's attacks, correct me if i'm wrong.

Yup thats correct! And fire wall helps too against s/s, because when u have fire wall they cant KD. =]

Is there any difference between 1st book Fire wall and maxed one?
Maxed Fire wall also goes down after one nuke i guess?

The fire wall thing is a good point, but against a STR ect.. they need to hit you 3 or 4 times before the wall is down. Thats if he's your level. Same for a bower.. 1 KB is'nt enough to bring it down.

What balance do you actually prefer? Just ensure that naked balance is 70:69 or you're trying to get a fixed balance after blues from gear?
