How much gap should i keep?

I am currently lv 18 and i am having around 600 extra skill point by leaving a four gap. Therefore i want to know what others do and make sure i am on the right track.
I am planing to put skills Points in...
Fire- fire imbue, fire protection and fire nuke
Lightning, must piercing force,grass walk, lionshout concentration, lightning nuke
Spear- Some SP on soul Spear and passive
bow- white hawk and passive.
So how much gap should i keep?
Also any advice or comment on my build is welcomed!

ill just farm till i have a 5 lvl gap. Most people farm more and get like 1 sp bar every kill but then u lvl hecka slow

I am sorry, but what do you mean by "farm until you have a 5 lvl gap"?

Basically it means, the gap from your highest skill mastery to your level, i.e. you're lvl 18, and your highest skill mastery is lvl 23, you therefore have a 5 lvl gap.

i did 6 gap, then went up to sp farming at 25, actually 8 gap but close enough. Then, I started power-lvling to 30, and now im starting sp farming again. ATM my gap is 4, but im going to make it 9 and keep that gap til lvl 43, where hopefully ill have enough sp to be able to just up one or two masteries and keep them at my lvl til lvl 70, or at least less than 5 gap. Just want to get to lvl 70 lol
. I basically keep whatever gap i want, when i feel like im going to run low on sp i start farming, whenever i want to lvl i power-lvl.

shouldnt the level be usually higher than the mastery when gapping?

Thanks everyone, since lvl 4,5 and 6 had the most votes, i decided that i will go with the middle one, which is 5.

Lol but once u get to 8 or 9 u get like more than half an sp bar per kill

according to it, i should be able to get JUST enough SP if i leave a lvl 4 gap all the way, so thanks to all of you who tried to help me out here
i will be on my way to lvl 30 and using my massive damage nukes
