Protector, since it gives you more physical defense. Once you're higher lvl and have a really good shield you can use Garment, but protector is still advised.

that was for you since you have no idea what the bloody hell you are talking about, so you mean to tell me he is going to wear prot just for fighting str? and will die when snow is down regardless of what he is wearing prot or garm, at least the choice of garms would give him a slight advantage over ints

Protector will help against str chars. And in PvP every little advantage you have can help.

This is true. As a pure int you lack phy def so protector will help with that. But as Dyegov said as you level up the thread starter will probably want to switch to garment but for the lower levels protector is the better choice.

with no fire you 're missing your magic defense buffs, depending on how many strs or ints running around on your server it could make sense both ways, of course you could go for protector simply cause its better looking, and have a better chance while grinding/ fighting against strs. But garments will help make up for the lack of a fire buff, even as an int buffs make a difference.

Advantages both ways for it. And if you got an str heavy server got prot, if you see nothing but wizards and nukers go garment.

I would NOT recommend Garment. Yea its nice, because of less MP usage. But you are full INT anyway, so that isn't really an issue. Even with high Snow Shield, Pure STR's can be annoying in garm.

i fail to see anyone explaining to me why the hell do you want to wear prot for? you tank pretty much the same in snow if not better cuz of the -20% mp usage and you die when snows down regardless of you wearing prot or garms

Protector is better for PvE since most of the mobs use phy attacks. And it helps while pvping str chars as said. You won't die AS fast against str chars while wearing protector.

For pve, there isn't really a notable difference to be honest. But protector will help when pvping str's.

Well if u have sos than u could pretty much use any armor lol. I guess protector is more useful for pvp. Protector has more physical defence for pve but i'll still say garment is pretty awesome for pve, i honestly don't see much difference when vsing physical mobs

You should have said that since the begining! If you have sos garment I'd use it over protector any time

Meh, i'dd advice garms aswell you miss the mag from fire, and gain the phy from ice.
If you can afford nice gear garms = defs a big YES

A friend of mine is also s/s int in garms, he'll kill and tank basicly anyone in pvp without even using snow, though warrior/rogue crits are hard ^__^

With cold and light you don't have the magic defense buff from fire. I think you should wear garments.

as i said once snow is down you will die to str chars regardless of what you are wearing

Remember that if u use SOX gear it's ok whit garms . But at pvp/jobing when u deal whit sox weapons you;re sox garm set becomes normal set regarding the physical defence.. so i sugest protector set. u can save some money whit a +3/4 protector whit good physical reinforce for them ( that's what makes the difrence between garms and protector ).
Take a look at a good garment chest for example ..if he has the phtsical defence +60..+80% equals whit a +20% chest protector ...but the phy reinforce for protector is higher !
i would chose protector
