Pure INT Spear: 30 Fire/30Lightning?

Post by TheEvilWorm »

Hey,
this is my first post, so please bear with me.
So the title says it all. I'm currently making a new character, it shall be a pure INT Nuker using spear. I read this Guide, and I can't decide wether to go

90 Heuksal
90 Fire
90 Cold
30 Lightning

OR

90 Heuksal
90 Lightning
90 Cold
30 Fire

There also was the build 90 Heuksal/90Fire/60 Cold/60 Lightning, but many people mentioned that it is only playable as a hybrid, not with pure INT.

So, what build has what advantages and of course, disadvantages? The first build was said to be godly ad PvP, I don't understand why the second one shouldn't be.
Of course I want to be good at PvP, but I focus being good at PvE so I can level fast.

Greets,

But fire nukes are stronger than Lightning nukes, aren't they? So why should I choose Fire lvl 30?

what ever you do don't go 30 light for a pure int

you want that magic attack buff

even if you use fire nukes and fire imbue keeping it at 30 light will give you alot weaker dmg
Joymax puts the F U back in fun
42 Warrior /Warlock- FuriousNinja
I can't really call it grinding, more like tanking for gold bots.

In the light tree, there is a skill that increase magic attack power by a #%.
At lvl 28 its only +7%
At lvl 88 its +18%

Fire might have a higher dmg nuke, but for a pure int spear I strongly believe the benifit of the +18% magic dmg outweighs the slight difference in nuke numbers between fire and light at 90 cap.

You will greatly enjoy the speed bonus, and the super quickness of the lion shout can go off before someone one pots and possiably make you have more kills in pvp.

the 30 fire is just to be immune to ice, wich alot of people use in pvp due to euros unless partied with a cleric arent immune.

I see, you think 90 Lightning is a Must-Have. But a friend of mine played a Light/Ice Nuker at 80 cap, and all Ice/Fire Nukers pwned him. Why?

And if I choose to leave Fire at 30, I'll always have to buff myself to deal good damage, and Fire deals great damage even without buffs. Well, my friend says. Is he talking rubbish?

Well if he didnt have Fire at 80 cap he wasnt immune to ice and they were, there for he kept getting frozen and pwned as you say. lol

Even with max jewels you cannot be immune to ice even at 90 cap without the fire skill at lvl 30 or a clerics holyward.

Your a china user, you must always buff anyways, you buff your imbue and you buff skills, get used to buffing, doesnt matter if you buff one skill or 3 skills! lol
I have a warlock cleric, I constantly have to worry about buffing, debuffing, nuking, and status removal, and pot lag, chinas have it easy. x.x

And as for your freind, who knows for sure, everyone has thier own opinions, I base mine on personal experience with my china nuker and my 3 years of game play. I do get mixed up sometimes but this is a forum and if I do messup I am usually corrected and life goes on. ^^

I just met a player while playing and he said I could just leave my weapon skills at 30. Is that wise? He said I'd have enough buffs to pwn everyone in PvP and while jobbing.
And do you think 60Cold/60Lightning is playable with 8:1 INT Hybrid?

the light nuke is 300% at max, lets just say your 90, 300%+18%= 318%
fire is 315%+7%=322%.

including speed/phantoms for PvP, Parry buff, Light will help you more in PvP

If you're pure int...you HAVE to get lightning...or else your build is worthless...the 18% mag damage increase is massive. =P

And, since you're pure int, snow shield helps a lot. If you're going spear, you need as much defense as possible and as high of a level of ice as possible since you want snow maxed.

Chances are, end game, or close to it, you'd be wearing garms...the massive amount of ice defense increase will help a lot ^^

So, Ice/Light/Spear maxed and fire down there would be good...

Cold/Light: Good against STR-chars since Cold has Phys.Def increase & it has Mag.Atk increase. No Mag.Def from Fire though, so not very good against other nukers.

Fire/Ice: Good against both INT & STR-chars (like other nukers) since Fire has Mag.Def increase and Cold has Phys.Def. No Mag.Atk increase though.
