Building a Thief

I used to play this game way back when there were only a handful of servers, and its was only Asia. There was no europe in silkroad. When all the noobs made Jangan lag like a son-of-a-b**.

I'm returning and taking a different route in sro this time. I was a trader before, and have now decided to go thief.

What are some good builds, equipment, etc. that i should be trying for? Im open to all suggestions

You are defenitively looking for a mass damage dealer to take out these transports (supposing you're not gonna find any horse noobs), so I guess Full Strenght Glavier will do it for Chinese, I'm not so good with European Chars, but Rogue will do the job pretty well with stealth + good crits to do the job faster. It's up to you, the best advice I can give is, TRY until you're satisfied.

chinese:
sword/shield = good damage, aoe nukes, can tank great with highest lvl of snow shield
glavie = most HP for chinese, fast (with the common 90 light and garms), most dps for chinese str
blader = can tank great, take longer to kill people and transports tho
bow = great cuz of range and crits. str based build so youll be able to tank alright especially with kb combos.
spear = best damage for chinese but easiest to kill

euro:
rogue/bard = stealth, highest hitting str char, very fast
wiz/cleric = no speed.. but high damage and with bless, kinda hard to kill
wiz/bard = better than cleric imo. youll be extremely fast, can go invis
warrior/cleric(or bard) = hardest to kill with warrior buffs on. cleric sub will make it even harder. bard will give you speed but you wont tank as well

id recommend either s/s, glavie, bow, or rogue/bard

More like 1 out of every 3 players.

For thief, I'd choose Rogue/Bard. Thiefs are supposed to be stealthy. Rogues have a whole line of skills that aid in thievery like tag point (so you'll easily find the trader), duplicate and monster mask (for hiding/sneaking around purposes), and stealth. Not only that, but with a bard sub, you'll be ignored by mobs, and you'll be able to move around and escape quickly. You won't be able to tank a lot hunters, but rogues aren't meant to be tanks to begin with.

Other than that, it's a great build for thieving... and it's really fun. ^^

The monster masks have a glitch which makes it so after using one you can't use any attack skill. Which makes you a sitting duck. You have to relog to fix it.

It wasn't always bugged though. I'm sure if we pester JM enough, they'll fix the bug.

I hope so. My lvl 50 xbow,daggers/bard thieving rogue got screwed over by that glitch :(

I have started to build 2 characters. One is an Ice/cold glaiver and one is a fire/sword/shield.

Between these two, which on would better suit being a thief? I always thought that glaivers were ultimate pvp characters. but was recently told that they do not do very well in pvp, so i started a sword/shield character.

someone define Nuker, Bard...

like i said i havnt played this game in a while, and have been out of the MMORPG loop for a while.
