psy wrote:hybrid bow will deal its best damage against a str not an int(critless, if taking crit into account depends on the hybrid). I personally experienced the difficulty of facing intels with my hybrid bow, i could kill those wearing armor , i cant do nething to the garm (more so if shield) but unlike int, hybrid bow actually does have hp to live through a crit and/or stun (so flexo dont get mad at me XD : well int could to but by that declaration obviously the hybrid will take the dmg of strs better). also if you take into account bow's beserker arrow, autumn wind and possibly that split shot thing in 90 cap, you wont be able to tell where your crit will land, it may end up critting on the splash instead of your main target everytime. a hybrid bow wont care because hes satisfied with non-crit +atr explosion series hits- its just bonus to crit. not to mention, when would you ever find nukers(for optimal dmg to defense-mayb mercs but i havent had much exp with those) within 5 meter circle when they are ranged, as oppose to str melees flocking over 1 one of your team mates so they can focus fire.

lol i won't :D.. i actually agree with you.. they can take a crit or stun better cause they have more phys def and more hp.

Only thing i'm saying is that pure int can take it too, with the right blue. Just is more exciting for a int.. cause they get closer to 0hp :D but if I die.. it's usually a stun and then a crit/ghost spear right after. Or some strong multi-hit attack with a crit after. But I rarely wait out a multi-hit I just phantom away. All the hits will stil touch me.. (wich is weird cause i'm far away).. but before the next hit I have some time.. to get my hp up cause they are far away and that throwing spear trick doesn't do much dmg. Don't really understand why ppl use that skill.. they should use the time to get close not do some weak spear throw attack (well just guessing here.. cause I ain't now pure str glavie so really I don't know...feel free to correct me) but maybe this skill gets stronger on higher lvl's.

Actually I don't do less damage than a nuker ... because an Int bow IS a nuker. I have nukes and can throw a nuke like any other nuker.

But bow skills can hit as hard as the nukes do if it is an int bow (and of course if you imbue) for the anti devil or strong bow or bezerk arrow or autumn wind attacks. The multi arrow ones are similar to lion shout and used in the same way.

I know that there is no way of knowing if a KD is going to be successful. And yes I know that they are going to be coming after me ... so I run and ghostwalk ... and I know the KD will get them eventually. I find it sort of funny to see how long people will chase too ... and have run half way around Jangan at times. All I have to do is keep moving to not die ... and if 3 people are chasing me, that means that their guild mates are probably now out numbered when fighting the rest of my guild.

Btw a blader doesn't have to do much damage on a spear nuker ... spear nukers don't have much hp (an int build is an int build after all) and a spear nuker can be dropped by a crit or 2 from the blader.

well you can do as much dmg as a nuker IF you had a spear. But you use bow.. so less dmg but no def to compensate for the extra weakness.

About the bow skills dmg...yes maybe they can be as powerfull but still the fact remains that they take even longer to powerup then a nuke. Which isn't a problem if you are a pure str.. but as a pure int.. this is a big problem.. So it's praying your friend KD him so he won't reach you.

And I know you can outrun ppl ... i'm a garment with light maxed so i'm as fast as can be...mastered phantom almost perfect so very little ppl can even go as fast as me.. and I've never seen somebody gain on me. They have to get me before I run cause when I used 2 phantoms I'm gone.. they won't chase me for long cause I lose them ... take turns.. and they never find me again. But in a guild war you don't do that you get just far enough to be out of range and just cirkel arround the fighting area. they always give up.. and then you go back in.... and wich noob guild is gonna send 3 ppl after a pure int bow lol.

about bladers .. I now have a 9 gap and are lvl 56 and I fought a blader that was 1 lvl below me 2 gap. And he couldn't kill me, i can survive a few crit.. just not 2 in a row(prob didn't have it yesterday).. but then again.. what is the chance on that. Some of your theories are a bit based on pure luck.. i mean if i hit 4 nukes all on the high end.. then any glavie is dead too.. but what is the chance on that..? I mean you gotta look at how things go in a average fight.. so prob 1 out of 7 hits is a crit.. max and with blade you got a big chance that it's just some low dmg hit from a chain. wich really doesn't scare anybody. If it's a KD or stab though well then you gotta pay attention.. but all else ain't worrying me..

I don't use a spear to nuke ... I use the bow. I don't know if you have ever noticed but each weapon has its own stats? As in there are good bows and good spears ... bows with high magic attack and reinforce for instance? And perhaps those bows can be found because most STR builds don't care about those stats? There is no special "magic" attribute on spears that only spears have ... each weapon has its own stats.

Oh and on the powerup thing for bows ... it seems to have been changed. Some bow attacks are now slower than nukes and some are faster but that is something you need to test out for yourself.

Of course any nuker is going to do the hit and run thing but can't you see the advantage in being able to hit from further away? And yes of course you circle around after they give up chasing ... I just don't have to run up almost next to the person to get a nuke off once I run back is all. And it is good that your guild is disciplined enough not to have 3 people chasing one but not all guilds are that disciplined and some will chase.

Also I have to love the "one time I fought a blader thing", nukers are nukers and even spear nukers have low hp. A spear does not make you a tanker and crits from str builds are going to kill any int build. I don't know about the one out of seven hits is a critical thing ... but I do know that bladers do lots of quick hits on chains and that if you are KD'd you just have to lie there and wait for 3 downstabs if you are in a high level fight. So between the 5 hit chain ... and the 4 hits from KD + downstabs with your 1 out of 7 theory on criticals maybe that means that on average you should expect a critical every other time from a blader?

I am glad you are happy and successful as a spear nuker. Like many people have posted before, the important thing on any build is that you need to enjoy playing that build. An Int bow is not the easiest build out there and is not something everyone would enjoy but it has its own advantages and fun.

I know each weapon has his own stats.. but if you take 2 weapons with the same upgrades let's say none.. npc bought same lvl. Then spear nukes do more dmg then a bow one.

and yes I see the advantage of your range. It's like I said that is your strenght.. but it's your only strenght imo.

Well i'm not that high lvl that the blader I fight have double stab yet so it's just 3 hits on a kd, but no crit kills me. Unless it's a sos glavie. Or a som blader with full sos gear. But other then that he will have to get my hp down and then hope for a crit. That's how they kill me. And yes over time bladers do a lot of crit cause their hits/min are high. But they have to be lucky that it is on a strong hit. Cause on one of the chains it ain't much at all.

And yes i love and i mean really LOVE my build (btw i'm dual weapon) and I'm not saying at all that you should drop your char or change it in any way.. All i'm saying is that generally speaking this build is not that strong and therefor harder to play. That's what this topic is about right?? why ppl don't like them, well that's why cause it's build ain't that strong.

But like any build it all depends on the player if you are gonna own with it.. or just die all the time. And by what I heard from you so far.. you seem to know very well where your strenghts are and prob play this char good.
