Help with Hybrids!

Low lvl pvp doesn't matter.

Correct me if I am wrong, and since you have been, I know im asking for it, but isn't a bad build one you can't lvl or progress with?

No.
A bad build is one that is not good in pvp.

Any build can grind to 70 and farm. Then what will you do. Run out and die in war?

When I was trying to make a STR hybrid I kept putting the points into STR until it was 36 STR :24 INT. Then I switched over to a 3:2 distribution. Should I do the same with INT or just do 2:3 right from the start?

Look at balances. Don't be str hybrid obiously...
Just keep your mag balance between 85-90% with no gear on and you will be okay.

Just a question. How would you feel if someone told you that a build you have been playing over half way, have had no trouble leveling, apparently is a joke, waste of space etc...just a thought. Most likely I will be 45 tomorrow so I just don't understand how you can just blindly trash it. I know that I made a lot of mistakes, thats what curst hearts are for, but really, I have had no issues, and for the most part I can beat up things nearly 6 lvls higher then me

if ur build sucks, accept it and move on. dont lie to yourself and everyone else and pretend its a good build.

denial is not good. when you take ur build and tell people its good, your ruining the game for everyone who follows your horrible build.

thank god for ppl like chaud. cuz of him and his tuff love, alot of people are gonna be saved from having bad builds. if he was around when you began your char, you could of ended up with a good build too. give other people that advantage instead of blindly leading people down the wrong path.

No.

But..if you don't pvp, and it is not the end all an be all to life, then stop beating up a build.

I guess that is the problem, I don't think it is a bad build. But I trying not to argue, really I am. Chaud is an asshole that can't wrap his head around other ideas that are not his own, and that is a failing in his own life. In every MMO I have played I have always played a hybrid, and never regretted it. Sure its harder, and sure it can hella expensive, but thats the fun. I get my pleasure from a game from killing monsters that I have no right to be taking on, and winning.

I don't derive any pleasure from beating up other people and never have. But that is the way I play. And I would not tell someone, you must do this or I will beat you up, I suggest and tell my experiences, and let them decide for themselves. Yes my main char on Ragnarok is a Hybrid and a piss off half the time. However the joy of being about to beat up anyone I want, during siege time, is awesome. I can still do my perscribed job of castle defence, but beat the snot out of someone at the same time. Most dancers on that server can't because they followed some cookie cutter build that told them that all they were good for was window dressing and castle defence.

I do my own builds and if I can't lvl with it, it gets deleted and I try again, which I have done 3 times with my Ragnarok Char. The char on Silk I have not ever had to do because she has always been able to lvl, even running a 5 lvl gap. For me, I won't be adding any more int at all, and it will be complete str the entire time till 70. When I get back and get my ass to 70, which will probably be this time next year, we can come back to this discussion and we can go one on one.

Does that sound fair to you?

If you want to kill mobs, you might as well not play...

No...the game isn't fully deved at all. Its a pvp game though...Jobbing, and lvling, and guild wars.

Boy you people suack at giving advice. Almost every reply is nothing but fighting garbage, with some tiny bit of info encripted into it.

I could care less about; "this build does more damage", "this build has more MP". These are all statements a 4 year old could deduce given these 3 very simple facts;

1. If you add points to STR; you get more HP, your normal attacks do more damage, normal attacks damage you less.
2. If you add points to INT you get more MP, your magic attacks do more damage, magic attacks damage you less.
3. One point goes into each, and you are given 3 extra to points to do with what you want every time you level up.

Anybody with 2 braincells can deduce that if you put points into one you are not putting them into the other. I believe Tatianasaphira is right it is all up to personal choice, and planning.

Now while all you jokers have been busy fighting I have since made a new character on the new Red Sea server. I am going for a STR hybrid glaiver. Right now she is only level 7. But totally naked she has a 85% STR balance, and 50% INT balance.

Now what I have been doing, and what I plan on doing is this. I am going to start with a 9 level gap, and slowly dwindle that down. I am also right now going after monsters that are 3 levels below me to cut down on the sit down time, and chances of death. Once I level up I go to the next level of monster. Once I hit 70 then I am going to do quests. I will admit that last part may seem extreme, but in my opinion the quests seem to be a pain in the ass when grinding.

Right now to me it seems as though I am doing the right thing FOR ME. Not only does it feel right, but it seems as though I have been given a sign. In my entire month and a half of testing and experimenting with 12 other characters I have never gotten any special drops. I have made 12, taken them all to lvl 16 and got nothing. With this new character I have gotten 3 SOS drops.

Now can I get some real advice? Is 85% STR, and 50% INT good? Or should I shoot for 90% STR, 55% INT?

Later in the game it is going to be very difficult to get a balance of 90/50. You will need alot of +int/str to get that balance. I have about +22 int on my gear and I am only at 91/47 balance. Seems like you are going to the 3:2 str:int build (ex. 240 str : 160 int). I think a spear int hybrid 2:3 (ex. 160 str : 240 int) would be better. You do high amount of dmg and you still have your stun moves to save you are kill your opponent. A 3:2 str hybrid would only be viable for an archer build b/c of the high chance of crits with the antidevil skill series. With a glaiver/spear char, your "advantage" in your skill set are your stun moves where as with archers, its their crit. Tell me, would you rather do way more dmg with a spear and have less hp? Rather than having more hp and doing less dmg. It's up to you to make your decision but regardless, you should farm at lvl 16 and farm 100k sp at the very least. I farmed only 50k and I am short on sp at lv 65. 50k more would bring me to cap.

Right now Axia has 89% str and 63% int with equips. Without she is 83% 55% (Which I am fine with btw), try to shoot for 90% str, and when you hit it, then try to balance, somewhat your int. I think 90% 55% for int is good, but you may want to try higher..hope that helps
