Cleric Skills - The Passives

Post by holokaust »

Skills : Charity and Faith

Question:
1 - Do they give their buff to the people you buff?
2 - Do they give their buff to you while you buff someone?
3 - Do they give their buff only when you buff youself?

Well these two passives are equipment based meaning that you must be wearing robes for faith to work and wearing light armor for charity to work. These passives only work on you, and not anyone else in your party.

Faith works 24/7 but you wont really notice any differnce in your hp recovery, and with the stronger holyward the curse series reduce you wont notice that either.

Now with Charity I am not sure(since I wear robes) but I know the phy def addon is always there, but the int/str only works when the bless spell is running I believe.
My pride and joy CrazySuby is no longer mine. She is and always will belong to Dutchy.

The int/str/defense from Charity Armor only applies when another cleric buffs you with int/str/defense buffs and only when you're wearing light armor and a cleric rod. The defense from Glory Armor and Favor Armor are applied when you're wearing light armor AND a cleric rod. You don't need to be buffed for Glory and Favor Armor. If you switch weapons, those passives don't get applied anymore The HP recovery from faith makes a HUGE difference later on. It is also required for most healing spells. Robes and a cleric rod are required for faith to be in effect.

Faith caps at 20% boost so it isn't really worth it compared to the Armor passives but Faith costs a butload less SP and the stronger Healing Cycle will probably make up for the lost Armor.

Well so charity only works when you got 2 clerics at an party?

Or when you get buffed by another cleric?

No, charity doesn't work properly. Meaning, it's effects don't work at all. To be absolutely certain, ask a cleric to buff you (if you are a cleric wearing light armor), and get ask them what their buff actually adds. It just doesn't work. Think about it, you can buff yourself, but you don't get any bonuses....game can't tell if you buffed yourself or someone else, it's no different.

...and if you still believe I am wrong, read that description again. Charity enhances the buff skills, meaning it makes your buffs better. Wouldn't make sense otherwise, since clerics aren't designed to need 2 in the party...despite having 4 str and 4 int buffs.
