Good class of a newbie?

Post by Devixil »

So, I'm pretty new to MMOs and silkroad, and quite frankly I'm a bit overwhelmed after reading all these guides. A lot of terms I've never seen anywhere and such. Anyway, is there a "newbie" class for people just starting out, like one that is easy to learn and such? Or is it all based on playstyle?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to silkroad :)

Its a fun game :) although sometimes frustrating

If you are totally new to MMORGs I suggest to do an STR build that means strength related builds that will be either
the chinese str glaive,
chinese str bow,
chinese str blade, or
european warrior and
european rogues.

Since they have more hp and can take more hits, its easier to play with, the skills are more straight forward and its easier to cope with. however I do suggest trying the chinese side first, because chinese dno't have pot delay, and its easier to get used to.

the forum is pretty friendly jsut ask questions people will help you out

As the guy above me said going pure STR will be your best bet for you, I reccomend blade since bladers are "tanks" (aka, they are great at never dieing lol), blades look sexy as hell, and they can hit great if you've got a pimped weapon.

now why would you do 80 ice for pure STR bow?
It should be Pacheon - 80 / Fire - 80 / Light - 80 / Ice - 0

Go European 1 handed sword & Cleric full str. This build is good for beginners, and does not need too much sp.

The most important thing is you need to stick with your character.
You need to get skills to 30+ for chinese characters before you will even know if you will like your character. You need lvl 40 skills for euro characters.

Personally STR glavie is the simplest "do all" character.
They do high damage for an str character, so they lvl quickly. They also have disabling skills like stun and knockback that really help in pvp.

Blade won't die as fast because of shield, but they do less damage so they level slower.
Bow lvls slightly faster but they are pretty bad at pvp until 73+ skills, where glavie is strong from lvl 1.

Euro characters are the extreems they have amazing skills, but to balance things they can only pot 1 every 15 seconds, vs chinese which is about 1 ever 3sec. They can be extremely fun, but dying at lower lvl is very frustrating.

Also you can always change skills later on if you really want. I know some lvl 80 characters who are always switching weapons, it costs a lot to switch though.
lvl 65 4gap 84:84 bow inactive.
