A competative hybrid build for 90 cap

Post by ontaria »

I'm currently farming an 86%-88% hybrid spear and I was thinking of different ways to keep fire, lightning, and ice at decent levels with useful skills for the 90 cap and I thought up this one:

90 weap
90 fire
80 light
40 ice

90 hueksal would give you the great HP passive and skills of course
90 fire would give you atleast 3 great powerful nukes to grind and PvP with
80 light would give you a good grasswalk speed and the 16% mag increase buff
40 ice would give you the 30% snow shield which I think is good enough for my hybrid

Is this a good build? I'm really putting a lot of work into this character and I dont want her to come out messed up! I dont understand the light/ice build because then you only really have 1 strong nuke to grind/PvP with, maybe 3 if you include the new 90 ice nuke.

I'm not worried about the 100 cap, so dont even bring that up :P

what is up with these hybrid builds ppl. Full INT and full STR is always better. hybrids lose to ful Int in mp and hp to full Str. i dun even know if they can surivive longer than Full base players.

err hybrid gives slightly more hp than a pure INT, and though it does less damage with the nukes (just slightly, you can fill it up with equips and such), the weapon skills are stronger, so if you're not going to nuke 24/7, and will throw in a whack here and there, then it's useful

Alright, but still no one has answered my question lol ^^

Oh and one more: I think light/ice is more for the full int chars, am I right? They need snow shield the most, which is really the only reason they're dropping fire for ice

im a pure int. my nuke does around 16k (depin what im fightin) but if i throw a soul spear in there, with both hits i hit around 16k (deping if i crit) all toghther. plus the spin move which does like 13k. so as a pure int spear moves are not bad for me either.

ice 40 is never enough, get at least 50% snow shield (especiall a spear nuker w/o a shield) and u hv to choose btw fire or light nuke @ later cap somehow
but u can choose 2 be a weapon nuker or a pure nuker w/o weapon, its up 2 u

IMO ice 90 is a must for any nukers
found some aim in life, something more important waiting for me

alright thank you! This is the type of response I wanted :P

If I take ice to 90 then I may aim for a higher Mag balance like 90% or so.

Anyone else have opinions?

50 % snowshield is more for pure int !

For a Hybrid your mp gonna smelll with 50%

Yeh 50% is way to much, but bring your ice to 90 anyway because of the phys deff buff, btw you can never have a messed up build, its all about how you use it :)

so a 30% snow shield would be good? I can get the extra defense off Ice from wearing protector instead of garments then, so I guess fire wouldn't be a bad choice after all? Are there any more pros about ice over fire that I dont know about besides the phys defense then?

Yikes! Now I'm more confused...

I've been discussing a lvl90 hybrid spear build with my guildie, hes planning ahead.

Our idea's are as following:
90 light, 90 heuksal, 90 ice, 30 fire. And until lvl80, fire until lvl60, to make good use of the nukes and mag def/phys atk/fire shield.
After it goes back to lvl30, use it only to get immunity.
This will wear garment or protector to cover the lack of mag def.

90 light 90 heuksal 90 fire 30 ice. Until lvl90 with 60 ice for the snow shield and phys def, then down to 30 for 90 cap. Snow shield won't be that high, but you will benefit from the huge dmg the fire nukes will give you, especially at 80+ where flame wave wide (the meteor one) will be 330%
This will wear protector or armor, to cover the lack of the phys def.

So it's basically damage against survivability :)

So both are good choices, it just depends on your playing style I guess?
Basically ice is better for pvp and fire is great for PvE.

I guess taking Ice would be the better for PvP AND PvE though, while fire accels in PvE? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Eventually, I'd like to particpate in everything SRO has to offer: fortress wars, job wars, PvP, PvE grinding, Uniques. Which build would be more practical?

Yes, going with ice benefits you a lot in pvp, going with fire benefits you a lot in grinding. If you're doing groupfighting, the damage from the fire nukes really comes in handy, 1v1 pvping you'll die quicker.
For unique hunting, i'd get fire, more damage means more chance in getting the kill

Thank you so much for all of your help! :) I'm guessing at the 90 cap most PvPs will be in Party form...I'm not one for the 1vs1 anyways (some people just get too competitive over a game)
