I wouldn't like to make "yet another pure str fire/glaive" and the like.
Anyone having any success with some home-brewed setup and willing to share it or give tips?
Anyone using a non-standard chinese template?

not too sure it good, only 32... but it does well in pve/pvp (if people near my lvl would fight me more >.>)
but it's a bow/galvie/force/ice/lighting, i just start to shoot them from far and when they get near, instead of running away (saves me lagging...) I just switch to galvie and hit them with vital spot and then kill them
I use ice imbue since it seems like imbues damage doesnt do much difference between ice/lighting/fire for str char so i picked one with status effect
not sure how this will do when i get higher lvls since i dont have to worry about masteries right now

You might not want to be that 'same old, same old pure str fire glaive, but the sad thing is, fire is the best choice for a pure str build seeing as it gives you the most benefits than any other elemental tree (speaking of the physical damage increase, and the most needed magical defense and status effect reduce buffs).
You could try to use a different type of glaiver, but you'd be somewhat weakening yourself =/. Also, you should take into account masteries...5 masteries = way too much, and you'll just run into an sp problem very early on, and it'll just be easier setting your masteries up for the long run instead of the present, because collecting curst hearts suck, and it can be very costly depending on how messed up your mastery distribution is.
Also, more and more the level cap raises, chinese are gonna turn out more so like euros...one way or the other. Good luck though, hope you find something that works out for you.

Many people nowadays are still going for the 1v1 PvP 'I want to own' mindset. Try thinking of a build that goes for the support build and you can own as a pair with another build who already is owning. For example, Bow/Cold/Force. Freeze the crap outta the target, you can heal, use vital spots, etc. Plus you're ranged. Cold gives a good training boost for bows since you can train 5 levels higher.

Yes, lots of people have that mindset, but it helps not being a support build who has to rely on someone else really to be able to kill. When you think about it, you're not always going to be pvping with someone else (with someone not against them), nor will you always be jobbing with someone else (real jobbing, not job wars). Being that 'solo' build will help out a lot more than just being a support build.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally knocking the support build, but some of those 'solo' builds can make good supports, and when the situation changes they can go to "solo mode," which makes them ready for anything. (i.e., a nuker can support a tank and sit back and nuke away, but if that tank dies and you're only a support build you're pretty much gotta run to safezone or die, while that more solo-built nuker can switch from support to ready to rumble and would have a better chance of survival).
Good Luck ~

Thanks for the replies.
I like the pacheon/cold/force concept. Would that be a full str character?
Though I don't know if I could do without Lightning at all, Phantom seems darn handy
_Scarlett_ you have point, however ultimately as long as I find the character fun to play I can live with its limitations. I've tried pure str glaiver and ended up deleting it, the prospects of spamming the same 3 attacks over and over just like the next guy were... not appealing.
