Spear/Glaive skills

Post by Black_Mamba »

I'm using fire for maximum damage but which weapon skills are gonna be most useful to combine with that?

I want to be able to start my fire and then kill everything with a good skills combination.

Definately soul spear to start it off with but I've never seen any of the others, there's dancing demon and a ghost petal one, obviously you don't have time to use all 3 so maybe one of those two or would fire combined with soul spear and chain attack be enough to kill everything quickly?

Is dancing demon series better than the ghost petal ones cuz they sound like they're both a spinning attack and dancing demon seems more powerful?

I don't wanna get them just to see if I like them or not cuz I'm trying to save as much SP as possible this time round.

I want a definitive good combo if anyone has any good ideas from experience.

Thanks.

In my opinion, Ghost-Petal moves are somewhat better than the Dancing Demon ones. If I remember correctly, Dancing Demon only hits multiple enemies standing infront of your swing. Ghost-Petal, on the other hand, swings a full 360 degrees, and it hits 5 targets at a time, as opposed to Dancing Demon's limit of just 3.

From my experience, one combo in particular is extremely effective for spear/glaive users. I learned this from Demarthl: Approach target, imbue weapon with your preferred magic skill, and then use Soul-Spear followed by either Ghost Petal or Chain-spear Tiger. Using this, me and Dem are able to destroy mobs equal to our level in just those two hits (and without the aid of Draft). :) Of course, we are both almost fully Int characters, so results will obviously vary depending on your character build.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks a lot moogie, I think magic+soulspear+chain tiger will be perfect, especially if you can time it so you get the first hit in with magic/soul spear combined for the maximum time usage, allowing the rest of the time the magic is running for the chain tiger.
