Force Mastery Counting

Post by Vicodus »

Im SP farming and don't have any goal set other than to keep grinding till I just can't take it anymore and want to start playing the game. From my research, I don't think anyone could have a good answer for this other than people who have done it. But thats all besides the point. The reason for my post is this:

Is it possible to pick which skill trees you plan to max out for the life of your character, add the highest skill mastery levels needed for the highest level skills of that tree, and know how many masterys you will have left over to put towards different (non-specialty) trees?

For instance, I am considering a lightening/spear build with bow as a secondary weapon. I have already chosen which skill trees in each of these masterys that I wouldn't mind avoiding so I can pick and choose lower level skills in other masterys without overshooting the 300 masterys limit. Has anyone come close to using all 300?

I would like to have all 4 of the mastery level 10 passive skills. Lightening of coarse will use up the masterys as my primary Force skill. So that one doesn't count as extra. But the other 3... if you count 10 Mastery levels needed for each skill (which is 30), this leaves you with 270 to use elsewhere. Now, if I plan to max out the lightening mastery level for the highest level spells (Lion shout, level 57), will I still need more that 57 mastery levels in lightening to increase this spell beyond level 1?

Im assuming that 300 mastery levels isn't enough to learn every skill in every tree. Forcing you to decide which path your character will take. My problem is, I want to specifically design my character to suit my style in order to have the most fun with it. Its too much work and takes too much time to not do it right the first time. There is no flocking way in hell I would do this farming again :!:

I hope your clear on my confusion, I haven't slept in 20 hours

well, just remember that when the level 60 cap comes off, the max level is
100 i believe..... and i'm pretty sure the mastery cap stays at 300. so, in
THAT case, you'd have to do more planning, because you'd have less trees
you could master.

but then again, who knows when that's gonna happen. my plan is to grab up
the skills i need, master the two trres i know i want(cold/blade),a nd hold off
on some of the others, just keeping them where i want for certain
skills(grasswalkflow, rez, etc). that way if/when the cap comes off, i'll have
plenty of mastery levels left to max some stuff out.

Masteries have level requirements. You can plan it all out, but you won't be able to raise them untill your character levels.

Geobot, Im hoping to only use certain book trees in each weapon as to use up less masteries, so I'll probably take your approach...and just hold off on anything I dont really need. Res is something that is a tough decission. I can totally justify not getting it, but at the same time, I am a helping kind of person. The person who res's everyone I pass. Thats just me, and I think that spell is important for the personal interation in the game. I'll have to decide where I want to make my sacrifices.

Thanks Ziggy, I've been following that thread also.
