Questions regarding Warlocks
boast wrote:I try to cast nothing but the nuke.
The rods durability wastes too quickly.
I personally don't mind that the durability is lost quickly.
I could add durability through alchemy or get multiple rods to use.
Here's my theory of why warlocks are better than wizards (IMO):
Warlocks last A LOT longer in combat (due to shield), have nice debuff skills to reduce the enemies attack and defense, and can heal there hp while decreasing the enemies at the same time. Although, damage wise, wizards pwn, I personally look more towards survivability of a warlock than the power of a wizard.
Here's something to keep in mind: "You can never attack when you are dead."
Please no flaming. Thanks.

i have a quick question regarding locks.
I'm a pure class cleric and I'm looking at getting warlock as my sub for the sole reason of being able to use warlock's Mirage skill (minus aggro). I'm pure INT as well and i don't want to go hybrid just for survivability reasons that's why i'm saving my skill points for Mirage.
i hope high level locks can shed more light regarding this issue, if Mirage is worth the wait.

Durability is really annoying/expensive, you either have to buy 2 weaps AND a shield, or spend on alch. Imagine when you get to 6x, a second rate weap is not gonna do much good ...
re your second point, not a flame, but alot longer is a myth if you know your char (IMHO - I'm wondering what happens at higher lvls here. Warlock dies like a wiz if it gets mobbed or comes accross lag, by the time you've got debuffs etc going u have been crit and struggle to use hp steal

Good, meaningful words.
I currently need 590 curst hearts to delvl my wizard skills.
I'll be patient...it will be worth it.

No, really, that's the way you should fight.
with the 2H's phantom walk + stun skill, I don't have time to do anything at all. All I can do is stun and run, till my stun fails.

boast, get the sleep skill, it makes them sleep for 20 seconds... you have time to do whatever you want... you can nuke and stun right away(because they wake up when touched) and nuke again, by that time you should have your sleep cooldown up again...
Or, if you cant kill them, you can sleep them and take off your cape in front of them

for grinding, still not enjoying warlock at lvl 30, gets more skills at lvl 40, but I dunno if I can wait that long.
They hit like a tank and tank like an int.
Have made a lvl 14 wiz to play around, I don't see why everyone claims they die so often, only died a few times so far (apart from pissing around knowing i would probably die) and every time, I think I would have died as a warlock as well (giant/party spawns etc).
I seriously don't get the build, but perhaps have alot to learn, lvl 30 is not very high.

5th row (Blood flower) --Max....Good attack and quick but small damage
6th row (Stun and some other stuff)---Should I just max stun? or other skills useful?
7th row (Blood sucking amount increase)--Max
8th row (vampire touch)--Max
9th row (sleep)--Max only sleep to prevent aggro from attacking you
Is this a good idea?

I am currently lvl 18 warlock, and I am really enjoying it
The vampire touch is a life saver...VERY GOOD SKILL!
I'm still delvling my wizard skills. BTW, when wizard gets to higher levels, they die very fast. I was in a kokoru party with a lvl 30 wizard and I had to ress him once every 2 minutes (no joke)---or maybe that wizard was just a noob. However, when I was playing with my wizard, this same exact scenario happened to me.
But I'm sticking to warlock, no doubt about it.

I made a warlock pvp video. Hopefully this can help you in some way.

Great video! Thanks for posting it.
It appears you use the same combo, but I cannot tell which skills you are using.
What's your pvp combo?
Did you use this?:
There is no set way to PvP. I PvP according to the build of the opponent.
Against nukers, I cast Reflect, Daze, debuffs, cast two DoTs, Bloody Trap, Blood Flower, Daze, Vampire Touch, and repeat.
Against Bladers and Glaivers, I cast Shadow Armor, two DoTs, Daze, Debuffs, Bloody Trap, Blood Flower, and Vampire Touch. Sometimes I may break the pattern depending on whether I get knocked back, hit by a critical, or knocked down.
Against ranged opponents, I use Fog Sight and PvP about the same as I do above excluding Shadow Armor.
My DoTs of choice are Curse Breath and Decayed. The Curse Breath status effects causes Dull which makes them attack slower and can't be cured with normal pills. Decayed causes Bleed which increases the the damage that my attacks do.

Against players that can one hit me or nearly one hit me I:
Debuff, two DoTs, Daze, Bloody Flower, and Vampire Touch
or if its a person I think I can one shot if I debuff them then:
Debuff then Bloody Flower,
or
Debuff, two DoT, then Bloody Flower
I only use Shadow Armor when I take the fights against strs seriously.
Reflect isn't very useful yet because its at level 1 but it will be useful soon.
Its good to follow a set strategy at the start but you may have to improvise at times to win.
Yes. I have sub masteries but I'm not sure if I'm going to level them yet.BaronSengir wrote:da_realest
do you have a sub with your lock?
if so what is it
I want to get cleric to level 40 for Recovery Division, which will heal my HP over time for 5 minutes. Bless Spell makes me invincible for 45 secs. Holy Ward gives me immunity to just about all status effects.
I have Warrior at level 10 for Shield Trash. Seems pretty useful but I'm still debating on whether or not to keep it.
