Knockdown in Party Play not helpfull!

Post by Naboo »

Am I missing something here ?, or are there more ppl out there who think that its not a very bright idea for tankers to knock down the mobs in partyplay ?

My point is that the biggest damage dealers are just standing around and are unable to attack while 2-3 melee chars hack in on a monster without doin much of a damage. Most party mobs could be killed in half the time with the tanker just hitting but not knocking down their targets. This is the main reason Im starting to resent party-play. :x

well yea..i'm a warrior 2h in partys i don't knock down the mob too often. The thing is that it buys like 5 seconds or more for the potion delay. That's when you are alone. In a party if you have a good cleric..no need for that.Sure it pisses the wizards when someone knock down a mob but the warriors are quite happy when a mob is at the ground.I'm not sure but at the giants i think wiz. can dmg them while they're down..not sure about that though. Many times when i'm grinding alone..the knock down skill saves me..300hp left and 3 sec until the pot delay is over :D knock down,pot..and i get like 1200hp with the medium pot and i'm back in game.In party i don't knock down often or at all..Bashing is a problem as well since it pushed the mob to other agro mobs. And what you said..depends on how much warriors/wiz/worlocks you have no ? i was a couple of days ago with 4 warriors 1 wiz and 2 clerics...it was quite a good ideea to knock him down since you make more dmg as a warrior when the mob is down(from 800 to like 1200-example)

I see the rationale about knocking mob down to repot and Ill never argue with that. Most warriors seem to use kd as their only form of attack and that results with the mob being down at least half the time, with 2 ppl bashing it forever and 6 standing around or running away from other pt-mobs spawning in the meantime.

The reason behind exp/item auto-share is to kill as many as fast as u can. Who does the most damage means nothing. A warrior does around 800 dmg on a down mob, a wizard with life-control 2,5k. with fire jet above 10k in a timespawn of 5-10 secs. You do the math.

I dont care about pots, I use mp-pots like candy cause I like to kill non-stop. Not being able to attack kinda takes out the fun from party-killin.

Tankers = Tank
Damage Dealers = Do the damage

Just tank for God sake! Let others do their job! No need to knock down. U're in the same party with shared exp and shared item. Dont freaking worry bout ur HP coz u got clerics to keep u alive.

The point is to killed as many mobs as u can, not how much a tanker hit. This is EURO, it's not always about u, it's about the party.

Some ppl will never learn.. Zzz :banghead:

Completely agree. Tankers should be aware that when there is a Cleric in the party, there isn't much of a need to knockdown any monster, unless they can't handle 3+ mobs on them at once. If there are a couple Wizards in addition to the Cleric, the Warrior actually slows down the killing.

Yeah happened to me a bunch of times. Normally I just tell the warrior "No KD please" Or something similar, and they say "OK, sorry" and thats the end of that, no more KD's for a good hour :)

Of course, it happens the other way around to me too (xbow rogue) when I'm told not to knockback and well, yeah, have to do that too.

It's a nice exchange :P

Yeah it's a problem, but as a Warrior, I personally hate the Knockback skills, rather than Knockdown.

Take for example a Party Giant Hun Defence Lancer... a group of level 30+s all beating on it, including a 2handed sword Warrior and a Crossbow Rogue. By the time you've finally depleted it's massive goliath HP, you and your party have travelled about a mile across Samarkand.

It's annoying as hell, not only do you leave your hunting spot but you pull 10x as much aggro as if you stayed still.

KD is only good when someone in your party is getting raped. Other than that it's a tad bit annoying

KD is the only way I can solo pt mobs :P. But yeah, I never use it in parties. Also, I try and KB the other way so it kinda goes back and forth until it dies. On a side note, has anyone noticed you can't KD huns? Is this a glitch or done on purpose?

Yeah KB imo is useless in party too... Though as a 2h warrior you don't have much change but to use it if you want to use a skill at all... Out of 6 attack skills only 2 don't have KD or KB.

i could be wrong but i noticed that if a wizard shoots his fire it keeps hitting the mob even if the same mob is kd by a 2h warrior.

if the spell was released before KD, yes it will hit your mob, but KD cancels your nuker's casting once it connects.

Fire Blow is the only wiz spell that doesnt get canceled by KD, since it has some AOE effect it kinda blows over the mob and does around 1/4 of its usuall damage. Although if mob gets KD-d just as u cast Fire Blow, it gets cancelled too, but you still vaste the mp and have to wait out its rather long cooldown.
