every time you get a point into str you get a point into phy defence
(except points of str you get from equipment that is , thay dont add to the phy defence , just damage and life)
becouse of this you will get a natural phy defence that turns into alot as you get higher in lvl

as you lvl your phy defence will grow fast ( 4 points per lvl ) wile your magic defence wil only grow at 1 point per lvl

you'd probbly wanna start out in armor at lower lvl's couse at that time your natural phy defence will still be low and most things in jangan area do phy damage

how ever at around lvl 27 ish ( as you get your taoists guests) you would want to make the switch to either protector or garments

Protector offers extra magic defence witch is way better than armor and also gives you 10% extra move speed and 10% lower mana costs

Garments offer very litle phy defence them selfs but have great magic defence
and garms also have 20% move speed increase and 20% less mana costs to all your skills
