STR with 2 masteries?

Post by _wolf_ »

Gave up farming to lvl my str bow

And I'm considering leveling only pacheon and lightening..
my reasons are that:

light imbue is fairly decent
light has a damage increase and recieve lowering buff
grasswalk/phantom

pacheon: well I can get everything

cold: dont need that buff cuz im str, and used to dying easy from my int so this'll be fine

fire: i feel it is overused and at the new cap not many will have fire so ill be good

sooo how do you think ill be as a str bow with full pacheon and
light:
imbue, buff, grasswalks, concentration, passive

I will level very quickly as a 0 gapping bow... soooo

do you think i'll be decent at the cap? I can always farm lata cuz the den kills me :(

O and another q...
What gap do i need for 2 masteries...
is it a 1 gap or 2 gap?

i believe str must made a choice of light which has all the speed boost or choose fire for the phy dmg buff up because its adviced that we only take 2 trees...

this is so interesting :D :D :D

...... are you serious.......

oh god.......

all str need fire. get over it. 18% physical damage with the new buff + passive is something you need.

if u dont wanna farm, get ur lighting to 36 and leave it there, then u can have ur 2 masteries only. that costs like 5k sp and anyone can do that. even people who are so clueless that the are considering getting rid of fire :P

id go with bow, pach, light til about lvl 35ish if you can afford it.

then fire and pach only.
wear garmets youll need it.

thats if you only want 2 trees.
the fire buffs are too good for str's to pass it up im sorry

hey wolf this topic comes excactly at the right time :D

i just took over a pure str lvl 29 bow from a guild member, that wanted to delete it. He messed up the skills and was bored with it
But anyway I was too trying figuring out what would be the fastest way to lvl with a bow.

I'm doubting if i should go light/pacheon or fire/pacheon. I just really don't care how i do in PvP or job. I just want to get high up fast and farm every skill and mastery i need there. So fire and light will both be there eventually.
I'm just thinking wich will come first.

Light for speed and or fire for more dmg. I'm thinking fire because you have the range too so the movement isn't much, right?!

btw if you select only the skills that help you to kill fast and leave all the defensive skills out or just back a few lvl's i think you can go with 2gap all the way. Haven't calculated it yet.. but i'm guessing it will be enough.

my 90 cap build is

90 pach 80 fire, 70 light, 60 ice probably.

and 20% mana shield with that ice.

pure str bow.

pve is okay with only light and pach if you really only want 2 trees.
make sure you max concentration is its your only form of defense lol.

but is light faster then fire??/ in lvl'ing.

cause i'm trying to figure out if bow can fight multiple mobs at ones. Lighning will help with that. And gives you a speed increase.

Fire on the other hand will give you a big dmg increase so you'll kill one mob at a time faster.

So really my decision depends on the bow skills: are there any effective ones that hit multiple mobs at ones. Or is bow just simply a 1 at a time weapon?

**edit** nice build btw :) haven't figured mine out yet .. but it will be quit similar

go with light and pach if you want 2 trees.
the "big damage increase" by using fire imbue is negligent on STR archers as far as im aware.

ive done tests and so have people in these forums, at lvl 80 its not even a 200 damage increase between Ice and Fire imbue on average, let alone between light and fire.

but just for shits and giggles lets assume that there is a large increase in damage (there isnt). youd be slow as balls, no ghost walk, no phantom. it would be THAT, not the damage that would slow your grinding down.

just because you have range doesnt mean you will always find monsters kissing their a$$es close together.

yeah i know that just the imbue doesn't do much. but you got the flame body series and the passive.

yeah true.. i'm gonna go light.. cause i hate being slow too and i looove the phantom, i've got it almost maxed out at my other char and it's just so great :)

You need fire for phys atk if you are str... if not...well... T_T don't expect to win at pvp or unique killing or anything til you've farmed up fire. For just one mastery, I'd say fire. For just one mastery for lvling only, it's a toss-up, but you could go light. You have to farm fire sooner or later though, preferably sooner...

yeah i know pretty much any pure str will s.uck without fire. But this is my third character. So any jobbing will be done with my main, this one won't job at all for a while. Maybe at 60 or 70 i'll start a little PvP to see how bad i s.uck without fire :D only to go crawl back to the mobs and farm fire and the rest of my skills ^^

**EDIT** ow one last thing.. purely based on lvl'ing fast. Armor is the way to go right?? since the phy reinforce is higher at that type of gear. So you'll do more dmg, wich means you'll kill mobs faster. Or is the speed increase from prot or garms a better option??

remember that this character won't job or pvp so i don't care about that at all.
