upgrading skills

when you upgrade a skill like strike n' smash or ice river force, do you gain any damage upgrades? or are you just taking the steps needed in order to get to the second book, wich then has an upgrade in damage

yes, upgrading skills will add dmg
Strike n' smash
lvl1 15~18 (150%)
lvl2 18~22 (150%)
lvl3 21~26 (150%) and so on
