I see a lot of people have like 3x or 4x in their signature, what does that mean?

its theyr (our) level. 3x means lvl30-39

People like to keep their level anonymous so that people don't know their strength in PvP, so they say "3X" instead of specifying the level. This is also why people edit screenshots to hide their HP/MP.

well, also, it'd be a pain to update your sig every time you gained a level. much easier to just update it every 10.
