Sword or Spear?

im building a 2:1 hybrid and i don like bow, so whats left is sword and spear (int heavy obviously)

now all the guides i've read says go spear.... but im werid and went sword

however after a while i realized that my dmg output wasnt rly spectacular so i heeded the advice and switched to spear (had to start a new char :banghead:

)

neways toooooo the point ^

1)why spear? when i used my physical attcks(which inevidably ill have to use due to me being a hybrid) w/ a sword they seemed to be faster than a spears. So although a spear will do more dmg, won t the speed compensate?

2)KD v. KB&Stun
KD's 50% is much better than either knock back or stun, so ill get more chances to heal and such, so once again y spear

do i seem like i want to use sword... maybe a lil biased. But i just want a strong char, it'd be nice for one of u to answer

As int hybrid, you'll deal less damage than pure int so the damage from spear compensates for it. The physical damage will also factor in since you add a lot into strength also. With sword the damage output is lower than spear to begin with, going only seventy percent or so magical damage will not give you enough damage to be effective.

Sword's better.
I always read about spear being better too, but perhaps when you said 2:1, you really meant 2:1. When most people say that, they actually mean 3:2, because they're reffering to adding 2 int and 1 str.

If you meant having it like 100 str and 200 int, then stay sword. That's what I"m gonna be, and I'm the best in pvp (and my build isn't complete yet, and I'm still farming).

Hybrid INT -> Spear
Pure INT (or 90% +) -> Sword

You need to compensate with the loss of damage that occurs, because you are adding STR. That's why you should use a spear. Hybrid INT swords will have lower damage compared to hybrid INT spear or pure INT sword.
