Ice glaives are ineffective due to three reasons:
1) Alot of people are ice immune
2) Cold force has the weakest imbue damage of them all, but a full STR build already has weak magical damage, so the ice imbue adds up to the loss of mage damage.
3) Glaives hit rarely, which means the likelyness of a freeze gets considerably smaller. STR glaives generally kill their mobs in about three hits. The odds of getting a freeze in this case are very small.
Sum these factors up, and you understand why ice glaivers suck donkey balls.
