my opinion is that it depends on how you define as weak, coz if u farm less, you level quickly (more str/int), and be ablet to use better gears. in the same amount of time.
but in the long run (at cap). id think your char would be weaker since you won't have the same menu of skills as the fully farmed ones.
my 2 cents worth

If you plan on playing the game for about 5 or 6 months, so intensive grinding and farm then go Hybrid Int Dual Weapon, with the spear skills and nukes you will own in killing Uniques and in pvp Spear/Sword+Shield owns.
But if you want to have the coolest looking character, go for Pure Str Blader
Stopped playing SRO a long time ago; still pr0.

id say it all depends on how you play. like most people say:
pur str vs pur str (pot war)
pur str vs pur int (pur str, generally)
hybrid int vs pur str (hybrid generally)
but, its gears that will determine the outcome, sosun weps would generally win you battles.
also, pur str are hard to die but kills longer (or never for blades). and for pure ints, kills faster but dies faster too becoz of lower hp. but still, depends alot on gears, so my suggestion is to save money and buy good gears at levl 4x up becoz u'll be there longer than 1x to 3x.

you can put wep 1 (bow) in slot 1 and wep 2 (glaive) in slot 2. for example, you use bow and glaive, when mob is far, to use bow, press 1, it would automatically load bow and arrow and you'll start firing at the mob, once it gets closer, press 2, glaive would be equipped and ud be hitting it at melee range.
not good idea to use s/s (sword/blade & shield) as you need to equip both sword/blade AND shield. it would have longer delays in wep switch
