Cyndaine's answers to FAQS about SP farming
Okay, this is my first guide ever, so if you guys thinks its crappy, say so:) i always like suggestions from other users on my guide. Perhaps it should be in the guides and tutorials section, but i notice that more people ask questions bout sp on this section. So if i post it here, i assume ppl r more likely to see it.
There might be some mistakes in this, so pls correct em if u see them.
Anyways, these days browsing the forums, i have notived a lot of questions about sp and sp farming, where to farm, what weapon to use, should i restart, blah blah blah. So, i'm making a guide so that people wont always be making hundreds of topics on these questions.
Okay first of all, for noobs, what is sp? sp=skill points, something that u need to lvl ur skills like bicheon, fire, ice, heuskal etc, and 400 skill experience=1 skill point. The reason why people sp farm is to take some time at lower lvls to gain lots of sp so they can save time later.
Second of all, i will explain the lvl gap. I was very confused about what this 'lvl gap' was at first, but after reading lots of guides made by all the nice ppl on the forums, i understand. A lvl gap is the difference between your lvl and ur highest skill lvl. Ex. if i were lvl 32 and my highest skill lvl is 23, then my lvl gap would be 9. The larger your lvl gap, the more sxp u get when killing monsters. BUT: going over nine does not make a difference, so a lvl 16 gap would not do more than a lvl 9 gap.
Now on to how to sp farm: I'm not exactly an expert at sp farming, but i have some idea of how to do it and i hope this will help newbies. When you sp farm, u kill lots of monsters to get sxp so u get lots of sp. The best place to sp farm is at the bandit den at lvl 16, and this is when most ppl sp farm like crazy. Now, the weapon you should use is completly up to use, but i suggest using a bow to sp farm because it is quick and efficient, you dont have to run around the place catching monsters which will save you lots of time. Get a good SoX bow to sp farm, and then when u decide to stop, sell your bow and go back to your regular weapon. This is what i did with the new char i made a few days ago,now lvl 17,and its working pretty well.
Last of all, probably one of the most common questions: i'm at lvl xx, is it to late to sp farm? The answer is NO, its never too late, although sp farming at lower lvl is ALOT more efficient than sp farming at, say, lvl 40. So i suggest as soon as you learn how to sp farm, get ur equipment ready and start farming (unlike me, who did not know how to sp farm until around lvl 20).
Thats about the extent of my knowledge. i know its not a very good guide, and i know many ppl can do alot better than i, but its just that i see some many ppl asking questions like about sp farming that i had the urge to answer their questions in one big guide.
I hope you liked my guide, and i hope, for new players, that you found it useful at least to some extent. If you feel like critizing my guide, feel free to do so, i'm always open to anything that will help me increase my knowledge.
Thanks all, Cyndaine

here's a little bit to add
True, the bandit stronghold is a place to farm like crazy, but the real reason is that it is a place with a high spawn of mobs that can be 1-hit with sos+5 bow or some relatively expensive bow at least while still giving good sp. Furthermore, the low lvls do indeed get a better sp/xp ratio than they will at higher lvls, but mobs at high lvls give more exp and sxp (total at least) for players their lvl than, say, bandits give to a lvl 16.
However, at the risk of getting bored of the game and quitting, there are other places to sp farm, places where (ints, at least) can kill the mobs just as fast. For example, the penons. Another good example is the nachals. That's all I can think about right now. BTW if you are str, don't plan on farming nachals. I don't think you will have as much fun as an int.

McCain, he (Barack Obama) said, will soon "be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten."
You might want to add this piece of maths in your guidethingy.
Each gap gives 10%less XP and 10% more SP.
With a 9 gap you get 10% of your original XP (divided by 10), but you only get 190% of your original SP (not even times 2).
Here's the catch.
If you get 2k SP for a complete level by killing Y mobs.
Then you get 3,8k if you kill Ymobs., but in order to gain a level, you need to kill Y*10 mobs => 38K SP/lvl.
Thus per lvl you get 19times as much SP
Narcisus wrote:guide doesnt really cover that much, yes basicly it says what sp/sxp and a level gap is but you didnt mention where is best to farm sp what level to farm at, how much to farm, not trying to rain on your parade but there are alot of sp guides out there with more information in than this guide, yes it will help new players (do not like calling people noobies) get a idea of what sp is used for. but all in all you need to work on it.. you didnt even explain why sp is needed really, you should of said @ LEVEL 80 AS A PURE STR BLADE/GLAIVE/FIRE/ICE user you will need near 300k sp... nope..
thnx for the suggestions, but:
1) i did mention where to farm at and
2) i did mention what lvl it is best to farm at

You are starting to sound really retarded. It's around 220 as stated. So that may not be exact but 220 and 222 don't make that much of a difference.
