I have a level 30 str/fire archer. I am doing the earth taoist quests, and it seems to me that I am sucking it up. A normal imbue shot only hits for like 150. I was wondering if adding int would be a good idea... I was messing around and made a hybrid archer(only lvl 12). But it seems to hit hard and kill alot faster than when I had my str archer that level. So maybe archer just has shit for damage and adding int would be a waste, but str doesn't seem to be doing much. I know most people will say, "hey, why would you add int? Archer class are str based, even look at the skills they add crit, str boost crit damage." wouldn't it be nice to have a little extra punch when my archer doesn't crit?

Naked, my guy has 94% physical balance and 33% magical balance.

I can say i went through that myself last week,What i did was go to a different area for a bit and lvl up a cpl lvls..I did some farming @ 16 and planned to do some @ lvl 32 @ flowers..It was tough running a gap because i just wasn't hitting that hard and i was using a lvl 24 bow..

At lvl 32 i finally had enough power and a lvl 32 bow put them down..I got down on my fire/str/bow char a number of times but i find now that i am lvl 36 with a 5 gap she is finally doing some really good crits and respectable damage...I can only hope this trend continues...

On a side note finding those charms has been maybe my least favorite quest thus far...Hope this helps..

Well, i personally dont care for the cookie cutter builds as you can see by my sig (2:1 str lightning bow), im just here to have fun with my friends and try something new.

One thing that you could do for fun, is try adding INT to a few of your armor pieces via alchemy. This is a good way to test if the extra int will add to damage without using unrecoverable attribute points to your build. At lvl 64 with a balance of 94% phy, 60% mag, i can easily 3 shot power earth ghosts (or 2 shot and kill with a single imbued arrow) with my skills maxed at 55. My crit is still impressive to me, which is all that really matters (13.5k on a giant PEG) and i believe i get a little higher constant damage when i dont crit cause of the higher mag balance.

Try it out with alchemy 1st, and see if its worth it.

+1
Pure str + alot of int= possibly good.
High % dmg wit str.
Higher % dmg with imbune.

Try shit out and HAVE FUN. Test stuff out, and enjoy it. A pure build that is boring wont last like a mess'd up build that you have fun with.

I was having kind of the same problem, and I am currently level 25 pure str/fire bow (yeah I know it's been overabused). The physical balance of my character is 102% while my magic balance is only 39% with all my armor on, making my shock lion shout do pathetic damage. But, it feels just right. With max anti-devil and double arrow combo, I manage to KS my blader and spear friends when fighting a giant monster, even when we all go berserk at once. Berserker arrow and anti-devil make you win. Going pure str lets me have 2.2k HP, compared to my hybrid friend who only has 1.3k at the same level. Don't worry about being weak, but if you're not having fun, then just do what you want. Games are fun, not a chore.

BTW, shopping can be more useful than it seems. Just going through the stores in Donwhang can let you find many +stat gear that can help you. ^_^
