Pure Bard? =o

Is it possible to go pure bard? No subclass? =) thanks.

I started to, but very quickly realized I had to have cleric subclass for RD and bless. I don't know if you can go 100% pure bard and still do ok.

Guess it's up to you, you can easily solo a bard up to 40 in a week or two, then find out if you want a subclass.

You dont HAVE to get cleric... thats why you get a cleric in the party o.O Ill never be soloing... euro parties ftw.

He was talking about soloing. For partying, you can easily go pure bard. Lot's of people do it. ON Venus I went pure bard till the PEGS, then added wiz to be able to get in more parties.

True, but it's nice to have several clerics to rotate bless And also pure clerics are very rare on Iris. There's two in union I think. Everyone else is a sub cleric.

heh, "euro parties ftw" only if your legit movement, unlike ours, stays on the server.

On kSRO, I was pure bard until 9x. Solo speed suffered when my SP pool ran dry, but I was still able to level up quickly by joining parties. I eventually gave in and took some cleric skills to be more viable in day-to-day gameplay, but pure bard DOES work if you can get parties.

Yes, you can and its actually quite fun: free speed, fast nukes, invisibility to most mobs and flashy skills/buffs.
Some pointers:

• You can 1-2 hit any most normal mobs around your level and your nukes are VERY fast.
• You need very little sp so you can 2-3 gap all the way, be sure to close gap every 10th level to update noise.
• In solo pvp, you suck. But in group pvp you start to shine since most people are wiz or rogues they keep thinking they can 1 hit everything which is actually not so easy against pure str builds or chinese, so there you can easily finish off people that your Damage Dealers are attacking. Just be sure to stay back and remember that you are a supporter not a tank or a damage dealer.
• You are the fastest char ingame so use that speed and your head a little to remember to run from things that are sure to kill you.

Yup, do-able if u have friends to pt with. Ppl took subs to be more versatile and play more roles. If you choose to concentrate on one, it's ur choice. But make sure there's a pt for you to play or else it would be a little bit boring.

I have a lvl 55 FF Bard/Cleric on Iris.. Pure bards don't even need much farming, you can 1-2 gap all the way and you'll have extra SP in the end. I satrted as a pure Bard, then leveled Cleric a bit so I can be more beneficial in PT's and to have easier solo grinding, but 2 days ago I upp'd my Cleric skills to the max, also the attack skills. Probably the best decision I made with this character, since I can be MUCH more helpful in PT's now (there's a lack in Clerics on Iris).
So, pure bards are easy to farm, easy to lvl, but you will get owned in pvp 99% of the time.
